Cheap and Strong Un'Goro Decks, Quest Talk, Warrior Taunt, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #94

Hello everyone and welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, our weekly Hearthstone [Free] column that brings together the best news and videos from the previous seven day. And what happened in the world of Hearthstone last week? Rogue Quest is still being talked about but not to the extent it had been the last couple of weeks. Instead, there were plenty of positive stories that talked about how great the Un'Goro meta is at the moment. We also have the best decks to play right now as well as the best decks if you're low on cards and dust. There's even a Street Fighter story today. Let us begin...

Un'Goro Meta, Rogue Quest, Nerf Candidates, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #93

Hello everyone, and welcome to a slightly-delayed Touchstone Tavern, our weekly Hearthstone [Free] roundup of great news and videos. As was to be expected, last week was pretty much all about Journey to Un'Goro, the latest expansion, but this time around not everyone was happy about what the expansion has brought to the game. In terms of gameplay, though, people are enjoying putting together new and, occasionally, silly decks. Unsurprisingly, players are already calling for the nerf of some cards, which is always the case when new cards enter the game. We also got a sense of where the meta stands right now, although the top deck might surprise you unpleasantly. Let's jump into the Un'Goro crater and get started...

Journey To Un'Goro Best Decks, Reactions, Rogue Quest, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #92

Hello everyone and welcome to the first post-Un'Goro Touchstone Tavern. I hope you've been enjoying the new expansion and the gods of luck and good fortune have blessed your pack opening rituals. My luck wasn't the best, but that was to be expected if I'm honest. Hearthstone [Free] has officially entered a new era now that we are in the second Standard rotation, and it remains to be seen what kind of meta we'll end up with once the dust settles down. So far, players seem to be happy with the variety of decks being played, and I hope this continues even after the meta crystallizes. As you'd expect, this week we're focusing on the new expansion since there's so much to talk about. And without further ado, let's jump into the Un'Goro crater...

Fireside Gatherings Changes, Un'Goro Reveals, Bans, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #91

Hello everyone and welcome to Touchstone #91, our roundup of everything that happened in the world of Hearthstone [Free] this past week. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that last week was pretty much all about Journey to Un'Goro, the upcoming expansion, and the Year of the Mammoth. We finally know the official release day for the expansion, and it's very, very soon. We also got to see all the expansion cards, with some of them making more of an impression than others. We also got to hear Blizzard's plans for improving Fireside Gatherings, which are definitely exciting. And we now know all the members of the Global Games' teams. Step right up, then, and let's get started...

Journey to Un'Goro Reveals, HCT Winter Champion, Disguised Toast, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #90

Hello everyone and welcome to Touchstone #90, our roundup of everything that happened in the world of Hearthstone [Free] this past week. As was to be expected, this past week was all about the upcoming Journey to Un'Goro expansion and the HCT Winter Championship. We've seen plenty of Un'Goro cards so far, and I have to say that the expansion is looking really cool. The Quest mechanic looks like it will spur some fun deckbuilding, and some of the upcoming Legendaries look awesome. There were quite a few stories about Quests this past week, which shows how everyone is looking forward to getting their hands on them. There was also a new champion crowned after a fantastic HCT Winter Championship. A great week indeed...

Journey to Un'Goro Cards Revealed, Trump Joins Tempo Storm, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #89

Welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, our weekly roundup of all things Hearthstone [Free]. This week was all about Journey to Un'Goro because we finally got to see more cards from the upcoming expansion. Most of the players seems to be happy with what they've seen so far, but—as it's usually the case—we'll have to wait until the cards hit the game to know what their effect will be. Still, it's fun to start theorycrafting and figuring out which cards might fit in which archetypes and whether some of the new cards will create brand-new decks. This week also saw more Un'Goro promotional material as well as a huge move in the game's pro scene. So, let us begin...

Journey to Un'Goro Teasers, Price Hikes, a Kripp Interview, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #88

Hello everyone and welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, our Hearthstone [Free] news and videos roundup. This week was a peculiar one since it started with more Un'Goro teasers but ended with players complaining very loudly about the changes in pack pricing across most non-US areas. The price hikes will affect purchases made through the PC, Mac, and Android clients as well as the Battle.net Shop. iOS will, fortunately, stay as is, at least for now. As you can guess, the changes didn't go over well with the community. The price hike wasn't the only interesting thing to happen in the world of Hearthstone; we also got more info and teasers on Un'Goro, although the real spoilers should be coming next week. So, let us begin...

Journey to Un'Goro Spoiler, Ben Brode Raps, Videos by Trump and Kripp, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #87

Hello everyone and welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, the 87th edition of our weekly roundup of all things Hearthstone [Free]. It's been a week since Journey to Un'Goro was announced, and players are already trying to guess the expansion's effect on the meta and what the new cards and keywords will bring to the game. We've also seen the first Un'Goro spoiled accidentally, and it makes me want to play Murlocs again. We also had the Arena and Standard changes as well as the two expected nerfs. These stories and more - along with fun videos - await below, so let us begin...

'Journey to Un'Goro', Arena Changes, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #86

Hello everyone and apologies for coming one day late; we didn't want to ignore the big Monday news. So, what a week this past one has been, especially given what happened yesterday, Monday. Blizzard finally announced Journey to Un'Goro, the next Hearthstone [Free] expansion that we all knew was on the way. The announcement got generally positive responses, as is usually the case, but what matters is the impact the expansion will have on the meta and whether it will make the game more fun. In addition to the expansion news, we also heard about the upcoming changes to the Arena, which should make the mode feel fresher and - hopefully - more fun. I think it's fair to say that we've never had so many changes announced as we've had in the last couple of weeks, which I hope is part of the developers' attempts to solve the game's problems and improve the experience for everyone involved. So far, so good, I think. Let us begin...

Year of the Mammoth, Free Dust, Ladder Changes, Pros' Views, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #85

Hello everyone and welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, Toucharcade's weekly Hearthstone [Free] news roundup, and what a week we've just had. Blizzard finally revealed the Year of the Mammoth, which is what the next Standard rotation will be called, and all the changes we're getting. We are getting cards moved from Standard to Wild, expansions getting a slight overhaul, Ladder changes, nerfs, and more. This is one of those weeks that will go down in Hearthstone history as the start of the game changing hopefully for the better. Most players seem happy with the announced changes, and it's proof once more that the developers are listening to players' complaints, even if they take their time with the changes...

Arena Rankings and Changes, Top Decks, Meta State, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #84

Welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, our weekly roundup of the most entertaining, interesting, or important Hearthstone [Free] news and videos. This week we had more news about possible changes coming down the road as well as stories about the game's meta state and what can be done to improve and freshen it up. There were also stories about what the pros are currently playing as well as some fun decks that you can take for a ride. And, as always, we have many highly entertaining videos. Overall, though, the whole community seems to be talking about the same topics, which means we have many of the same stories going around. Let us begin...

Nerfs, Dinosaur Expansion, Pirate Warrior Deck and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #83

Hello and welcome to another Hearthstone [Free] news and videos roundup. I hope you've had a good week and you didn't have to face too many Shaman decks (although the odds of that are not in your favor). This past week was a very interesting one as we got the first clear statement of nerfs coming to the game soon as well as possibly the name and theme of the next expansion. Are you ready for some dinosaurs? We also got stories about a great nation-based tournament coming as well as some ways to counter Pirate Warrior. And, as always, we got the best videos of the week. So come in and enjoy the roundup...

Hello Hearthstone [Free] players and welcome to another weekly news and videos roundup here at TouchArcade. I hope you've been enjoying playing the game and you've found a couple of decks that are doing the job for you. This week there was plenty going on, from more talk about possible nerfs or Wild "demotions," to the Android client finally seeing the reduction it's always needed, to the top Standard and Wild decks of the week, and more. And, of course, we have the top videos of the week by Kripp, Trolden, StrifeCro, and more. The talk of possible nerfs has been growing stronger these last few weeks, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get an actual announcement some time soon. Until then, enjoy playing against (or as) pirates...

Buccaneer Nerf Coming(?), Gadgetzan's Effect, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #81

Hello Hearthstone [Free] players and welcome to another news and videos weekly roundup here at TouchArcade. I hope you've been enjoying your play and, hopefully, haven't been encountering too many Pirates along the way. This week we have some more talk on Gadgetzan and its effects, some interesting meta discussions, and, of course, some fun videos. I don't remember any other expansion creating so much talk post-release as Gadgetzan has, not so much in terms of intensity but in terms of how many different topics it seems to have generated. From talk about Pirates to discussions on Control decks to much more, this has been quite an interesting time for the game, hasn't it? Let's jump right in, then...

Developer Comments, 'Gadgetzan' Mechanics, Budget Decks, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #80

Hello everyone and welcome to our weekly roundup of Hearthstone [Free] news and videos. And it's the eightieth issue, which means I've been doing this for over a year and a half. So, I might just bake a Hearthstone-shaped cake and eat it all by myself. My apologies for last week's absence, but I had to hop over to Europe for work-related reasons (they had to really twist my arm to do so). This past week was an intriguing one in the world of Hearthstone because we got to hear quite a lot from the game's developers, both in numerous interviews and in a live Q&A. So, we got to hear about the Gadgetzan design process, ideas regarding how to fix the game's problems, and much more. In addition to those stories, there's also tournament talk, the current state of the meta, as well as plenty of entertaining videos and commentary on the developers' recent ideas. So without further ado, let us walk over the image below and unto the text...

Best of 2016 Videos, Meta Issues, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #79

Happy 2017 to one and all! I hope you've had a great little break - for those fortunate enough to have one - and are ready to face 2017. And welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, our weekly roundup of Hearthstone [Free] news and videos. This issue is coming to you one day later than usual, but even we have to pause for the New Year. And now that 2017 is officially here - though I'm sure I'll still be writing 2016 for the next few weeks - we are back in business. As you would expect, not much happened in the world of Hearthstone this past week, but there were still some interesting stories published. And, of course, we got some "best of 2016" videos as well. Without further ado, let's jump in...

Patches Good for the Meta (?), Card-Draw RNG, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #78

Welcome one and all to another Touchstone Tavern, our weekly column on everything and anything Hearthstone [Free]. I hope you've been enjoying your holidays and your rest - if you've been lucky enough to have some of that. And, of course, I hope you've had the opportunity to play Hearthstone more than usual; if you have, then you've probably seen plenty of Pirate Warriors and, increasingly, our old friend, Mr. Midrange Shaman. As you can imagine, this past week (and a bit) hasn't been the most eventful in the world of Hearthstone, but there's still news to talk about and plenty of videos to watch. Without further ado, let's jump in then, shall we?..

Patches and Pirate Warrior, Gadgetzan Decks, Crazy Trump Videos, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #77

Hello everyone and welcome to our pre-holiday Touchstone Tavern, our weekly roundup of the best Hearthstone [Free] news and videos. As to be expected, most of the stories this week are still about the effect of Gadgetzan on the game, be that in terms of how the meta has changed or how the game feels after the influx of the 132 new cards. There's an interesting article on how Patches the Pirate came to be as well as an article on how to beat that scummy Pirate. Overall, most players seem to be happy with the current state of the game, and that's great because the game needed a nice boost of positivity after the last few months. And as to be expected, we won't be publishing a Touchstone Tavern next Monday because Christmas, of course. Let us begin...

'Gadgetzan' Best & Worst Decks and Cards, and More 'Hearthstone' Weekly News in 'Touchstone' #75

Hello everyone and welcome to another Touchstone Tavern, our weekly roundup of everything that happened in the world of Hearthstone [Free]. This past week, the topic that dominated was - of course - the new expansion, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan. The expansion, which arrived with a quickly-fixed bug, has been so far quite positively received and people have been having fun experimenting with silly decks. It looks like Blizzard has designed a strong expansion that should rejuvenate the game. Of course, we've heard this story before, so we'll have to be a bit patient before crowning Mean Streets a success. After all, maybe in a couple of weeks a super-powerful deck will emerge that will spoil everyone's fun. So far, though, so good. This week's Touchstone is all about the expansion, so step right through the door...
