We recorded a bit earlier than we usually do today, which means it’s just me and Jared as Mike fell asleep in a pile of Ritz crackers. That’s alright though, as we have a great conversation about side scrolling racing games, iOS controllers, and a bunch of other cool stuff.

That goddamn Pumpkin Dance (~_~;)
Earlier I think you'd mentioned "Might & Magic
Clash of Heroes" was on sale for 99 cents but that it hadn't been playable
since the iOS 8 update, or was a "gamble" or something like that...
I've been watching it and got it on Thanksgiving anyways, and it seems to work
fine on my iPhone 5 version 8.1, and it looks like it is still on sale... Any
game that allows me to form an unholy (and I'm guessing uneasy) alliance with
Dragon and Unicorn units is totes awesome in my book (and by that I mean
they've simply allowed me so far to use both units, TOGETHER, on the SAME TEAM,
when that CLEARLY BREAKS ALL FANTASY GUIDELINES SET FORTH BY OUR FOUNDING
FATHERS). So...I felt inclined to mention that. Thanks for keeping us updated
on things and happy holidays, Touchies! er... Arcies? Tarcies? Tourcies?
Arcadians?
And if you still can't find what you need here, there are a few from this previous TouchArcade News post that are still on sale like:
Deep Dungeons of Doom
Phoenix Wright's "Main Story Set" DLC
Tomb Raider I
http://toucharcade.com/2014...
And Monument Valley's not on sale but you can buy it for an anti-AIDS charity if you haven't already:

I heard it's great but haven't played it yet because too many things are on sale and I don't have that much space and time or a TARDIS or a time dragon (that's probably a thing, I mean there's a luck dragon, why not a time dragon...?).
Don't forget Assault Vector ($0.99)!
Any instabuys other than Banner Saga? I am quite familiar with a lot of releases from the past year, but I do not own a LOT of these games.
Mmmmm... I like fantasy and story-driven games and I like Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery. I haven't beat it yet, but after the first chapter, I've found it unique, delightfully pixely, and so far has an interesting story with a killer soundtrack (a must-play with headphones). So far it's not super action-y though...
Also it's not on this list but is on the previous Touch Arcade sales' list for Thanksgiving, but the game, Deep Dungeons of Doom, is fun and maybe still half-off (for the full game, it's no longer free-to-try or "get"-to-try). It's more action-y, but less experimental...
If those sound interesting to you this site also has reviews you could check out on both, I think (Youtube could probably give you some gameplay footage too)...
I can't believe I was on the fence about Banner Saga for so long. This game is awesome! It's like XCOM meets Telltale meets Vikings with gorgeous artwork. This is the best purchase I've made in a while and had I known, I wouldn't have minded paying full price on launch.
My only complaint is (trivial) I wish I could hide the HUD to use screenshots for wallpaper.
How long is Banner Saga? Isn't is highly story driven?
I can't offer you an answer on total playtime yet, however I put almost 5 hours in yesterday and the end isn't anywhere in sight. Your choices seem to be the deciding factor on which of the major players stay alive, so there's some replay value in there. It plays really well on my iPhone 5 and the loading times that I heard about really aren't that big of a deal.
Oceanhorn never goes on sale :(
I took Nightmare I don't know why I missed this one before but It is very good!
Knightmare I mean, god damnit please fix toucharcade app please
