Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll likely be well aware of Fortnite: Battle Royale’s exciting mobile reveal last week and what a huge statement this means for iOS as a gaming platform. Unfortunately, that is exactly me – it seems taking a few days of online detox has happened to coincide with the iPhone announcement of the decade. Don’t fear, as I’ve spent the past five minutes catching up with the extensive coverage we’ve shared with you here on FortniteArcade, and the hype train is not slowing down anytime soon. Yesterday, the official mobile trailer for Fortnite was released, which showcases the game in all of its hilarious cartoon glory, as well as giving us a first glimpse of gameplay on the iPhone X and how the controls may work in action.
The coolest feature of the Fortnite trailer is undoubtedly how slick it all looks in action. Anyone still cynically wondering whether this will be a full version of the PC and console title should really have their questions answered here, and I’m quite impressed by how fluid the framerate is and also how the graphics truly pop on the smaller screen. Of course, the virtual controls will likely make or break Fortnite for many gamers, and while it’s hard to discern too much from the glimpses in the trailer, those lucky enough to play the title in the video seem to be having little difficulty in manipulating their avatar. I doubt we can look into this too much, but at the very least this mobile reveal trailer is yet another reason to be incredibly excited for Fortnite on iOS.
