Epic Games’ Invite Event for Fortnite Battle Royale on iOS has just begun. If you aren’t aware, Epic Games announced Fortnite Battle Royale for iOS and Android. Before you scoff at this, it isn’t a scaled down port or a mobile spin off game. This is the real deal and progression syncs between other platforms and mobile with players also being able to play against others on non mobile platforms. Initially, the iOS version will be available through an Invite Event and the Android version will follow in the months after. Unlike other battle royale games, Fortnite has base building and a big building component. I’m curious to see how that aspect works and controls on iOS. Watch the trailer for Fortnite Battle Royale below:
Testing for the iOS version begins today and if you’d like to get in on the worldwide gaming phenomenon on iOS, you can now sign up to get added to the waiting list. You can sign up for it on iOS here. Once you get approved, you will get a link to download it. Epic Games also clarified that they will be rolling this out to more players as time goes on over the coming months.
Keep in mind that you will need an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, or iPad (2017 model) to play Fortnite Battle Royale on iOS. It is still amazing to not just have a mobile version of a popular console and PC title but to get one that will be the full game with progression transferring and having the ability to play across others on non mobile platforms.
