See my review on "Lights Off" clones for the iPhone:

    http://puzzlingiphone.wordp...

I found about 12 different implementations of this principle in the app store.

    I find this ironically amusing

A dev that programed for jailbroken devices now works at apple

No disrespect to him...the amusing is apple their so wishy washy

"we don't want you doing that unless we get some of it"

So why can't they just make it so we can have jailbroken apps that aren't considered jb'ed.

The appstore and itunes has really crippled my faith in apple. It's a good thing I only like there computers and the phone, otherwise I wouldn't even mess with them

  4. Redstar

    Which raises the question

Can or does he still program for jb'ed phones?

  5. arn

he was a developer at Delicious Monster. I don't see it as ironic. Apple frequently recruits good developers who are in the dev community.

It ironic to me because of apple stringent rules
So apple is against jailbreaking and most of the apps from the installers you get through the jb process

But they'll hire people that have programed with the speciffic purpose of operating software on unsanctioned firmware.

That doesn't seem a little bass ackwards to you?

  7. dunkee

    no, it doesn't.

  8. Redstar

Well then why do we have to jailbreak our devices just to get a simple video recorder?

But seeings how what I’m saying is totaly inconceivable then just forget it
You know exactly where I’m coming from. Just drop it

it's just not a point that we or Apple seems to agree with. Apple's aware of people jailbreaking the phone. So a guy develops a jailbroken App, that means he should be barred from working at Apple forever? It just makes no sense. Apple doesn't care about jailbroken apps as much as you think they do.

  10. Redstar

No I don't think he should be barred, more power to him

I'm asking why apple has such a problem with jailbreaking and if they don't have a problem with it why do we have to jailbreak at all? Why is almost every productive app shot down by apple.

Senerio-you make the first copy and past app for iPhone (pre-appstore) so it's jb'ed. then appstore opens and they hire you, you submit your copy and paste app only to have it rejected.

Thats where I am not processing. I don't care where the guy works. Apple is a wishy washy company.

But seeings how what I’m saying is totaly inconceivable then just forget it

I don't understand where you're coming from, Redstar.
For what you are saying to make sense, you would have to demonstrate that Apple have "such a problem" with jailbreaking in the first case - which I don't think you can.
Plus, knowing that Jailbreaking exists, why wouldn't apple investigate some of the talent working to make JB games and recruit them?

One of the ways I've come to believe that apple has a problem with jbing is cause they won't work or do any fixed to your device (in store) if your on customized firmware

The other reason is cause they have rejected a lot of apps that can only be downloaded via jailbreak, and these are apps that a lot if their customers want and ask for. Granted I used to jb & now that I'm not there's not a lot I miss but most still would like such as buisness types.

And I do believe the only reason they opened the appstore because of jbing, they knew there was someone that might hack it. And people cried out for native apps cause web apps just don't cut it.

So I just found it ironic that they have rejected countless apps that you have to jb to get and then employ someone that wrote jb'ed apps possibly some they rejected, however this one was accepted.....apple certainly doesn't advertise jbing even though they may not mind it. But the only reason I think that they don't mind it is cause they can't really stop it. Maybe they could stop it and the fact that they haven't proves that they don't mind all that much.
But their customers still ask and hope @ every keynote for features that have to be jailbroken to use
