‘Cat Quest 2’ from The Gentlebros Is Now Content Complete and They Are Likely Announcing a Release Date for It Soon

TouchArcade Rating:

If you’ve been reading TouchArcade over the last few years, you know how much we love Cat Quest ($4.99) the The Gentlebros. I’ve played it on iOS and Switch and love how they made it playable with touch and button controls perfectly. A little while ago, they announced a sequel in the form of Cat Quest 2: The Lupus Empire. This has co-op in addition to solo play. Watch some co-op gameplay for it below:

If you don’t want to play it in co-op with someone else you can play it solo with an AI partner. As of now, the game is content complete. This means the team will now look at polishing and fixing any bugs. The porting process will also likely begin now if it hasn’t already for mobile. Cat Quest 2: The Lupus Empire is coming to both iOS and Android in addition to all consoles. I will likely be double dipping on this once again. Here are MFi controller details for the game if you are looking into playing this one with a controller. Check out the original teaser for it below:

If you’ve made it this far and have still not played the original, rectify that immediately. We had it as our Game of the Week when it launched and it was also in our best games of 2017list. Check out our forum thread to stay up to date with everything Cat Quest 2: The Lupus Empire. Read our review of the original here. Are you going to get this on mobile day one or Switch since that offers button controls and portable gameplay?

Looking forward to it! I bought this on iOS, PS4, then physical on PS4, and finally the Switch version. I’ll probably do the same for the sequel.

Trailer makes it look exactly the same as the first one, don’t get me wrong I really liked the first one but was hoping for something a little turned up. Guess they are highlighting co op as the main draw.

Looks good, even though I thought the touch controls of the first were outstanding, and the game was great, when I lost interest it came suddenly and for no reason and I never finished it.

Its a shame you cannot configure your cat appearance. As a major cat lover, this would be a win for me as I could style the lead puss after one of my own and feel more connected :-D

Not impressed. It feels like CatQuest 1.5 to me rather than a CatQuest 2.
Everything looks pretty much the same with only new contents.
So can we assume CatQuest 3 is just adding support to third player, a bear maybe?
      No offence, just personal opinion.

"in addition to all consoles"? Is this one coming to Xbox? The first didn't...

I'll probably go Switch, like the original, unless it is coming to Xbox, I might go that way.
