Whether you love it or hate it, one thing you can say for certain about the Infinity Blade series is that it's been well supported over the years. Each entry in the series has seen numerous post-release updates that add brand new content to the game and take advantage of the latest Apple hardware. The most current game in the series, Infinity Blade III [$6.99], has seen some particularly strong updates since its release and our initial review back in September of last year. There was the Soul Hunter update that landed the following month, the Ausar Rising update in December, and the return of Ryth with the Blade Masters update this past May. And that's not even counting the more minor updates like holiday helms, Clash Mob events, and even 3D-printed figurines.

Well, all good things must come to an end, and today Chair has announced that Infinity Blade III will be getting its final update on September 4th. The update is named Kingdom Come, and according to Chair, it will include "a stunning new environment, dozens of new items and weapons, and new enemies to defeat, including a fierce new dragon. More secrets await and questions will be answered in ChAIR’s epic conclusion to the Infinity Blade trilogy." Next month marks the four year anniversary of the debut of Infinity Blade, so to celebrate Chair has put together an Infinity Blade tribute video, which also showcases some of the new stuff from the Kingdom Come update.

It's sad to see the Infinity Blade trilogy finally coming to an end, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Chair and Epic aren't done with the Infinity Blade series just yet. Or, perhaps they have something totally brand new and incredibly cool in the works, and they're just waiting for the new iPhone announcement so they can unleash it on us all. Who knows? One thing's for sure though, and that's that the Infinity Blade series has had a great run, so look for the Kingdom Come update to tie a ribbon on the trilogy on September 4th when it hits the App Store as a free update to owners of Infinity Blade III.

They are going to demonstrate the iPhone 6 gaming potential with an Infinity Blade 4 reveal. *Yawn*

      • Stormourner

infinity blade spiritual successor (my truest hope) might be demonstrated

  • Stormourner

the infinity blade trilogy wouldn't be over if infinity blade dungeons wasn't cancelled T_T

    • leehomf

      It was cancelled

      • Stormourner

I know it's cancelled but I truely wish it wasn't cancelled

      • Based Xatu

When you found out, did you mourn?

      • theorangeipod

        I did

      • Stormourner

my heart went broken, I mourned because I'm the fan of IB series

If they were to do a new game, here's my suggestion: a new storyline with Radriar as the protagonist. It can cover his early days and up till the late millennia. That way, we would get to see birth of the deathless and their rise to power. Of course, anything else Infinity Blade would work as well but I would just love to see this character explored more.

  • one.sixty.four

It's been a great series and it's sad to see it come to a close. But at least there's a ton more content I haven't played yet.

A fantastic ride that really forced the industry to pay attention to just what games could look like on a mobile phone. Looking forward to whatever comes next, o7

After playing the three games and reading the two books to have the full IB experience, I must say that IB3 was a letdown compared to IB1 and specially IB2. Don't misunderstand me, I really liked the trilogy + books and I would love to see something like this done again, but IB3 was the least satisfying of the three games.

    • iammane

Ib2 was my favorite. Ib3 is great, but I dunno.. There's just something about 2 that was so awesome. Can't put my finger on it. So you're not alone

  • nomorejoking

Kingdom come? This game has too many ties with Imagine Dragons now. First the song and now this

    • Living Legend

Kingdom come has nothing to do with imagine dragons. All because " demons" says that line means nothing.
Plus it is cool that a REAL band wrote a song for an iOS game and Imagine Dragons is awesome too

I wouldn't be surprised if they thought of this. Isa has shard plate armor which is a big part of the series Brandon Sanderson wrote which is seemingly very similar to infinity blade. Sanderson also wrote the infinity blade books.

So, I guess I'll have to clear off some space to fit the new stuff in the update. It's been a while since I've played it. Should be fun!

  • RunningWild

I agree that there was something missing with Infinity Blade lll. The first was technically groundbreaking for the platform, the sequel expanded upon this greatly.

Number three just didn't seem to take as great leap. The excessive timers upon timers didn't impress either.

Is it just me or do IB1 graphics look better in this vid than they actually are in the game?

    • surirav

Is a video when you play the game is better.
      And with Metal even better.

  • surirav

Epic make good games. I have jailbreak but i pay for infinity blade trilogy. Is an awesome high graphics games. I hope they make a really Nice game like ib in the future.

  • Sylars

Whaaat wait a minute. Why is Siris getting killed by the worker instead of Raidriar?(0:26)

Well I see lots of new enemies, Locations and equipment. Ohh see that Dragoor equipment!!?? ^_^
