Podcast-Illustration-0121In this week's episode of The TouchArcade Show, we make the best of an (arguably) "slow" week by discussing the issues revolving around this week's latest releases. For example, we dig into runner fatigue and Chillingo's brand image. We also talk about what kids are playing and why genres that our touch devices don't do so great tend to click with them. In addition to this, we dive into Trucker: Parking Simulator (don't laugh), Gravity Guy 2, Blitz Brigade and more.

If you'd like to give us a listen this week -- and you do want to listen because this week's opening story is, like, woah -- go ahead and click a link below. You could also subscribe to us on iTunes or Xbox Music. That's a neat way to get us, as the downloads are instant and effortless.

Really interesting conversation about the status of gaming right now. My older brother and I grew up with consoles, and it took me a few years to consider iOS games "real" games. It's clear by now, though, that the gaming landscape has changed. There will always be a market for AAA games (even if they charge $70 for them), but it's getting smaller as mobile games get cheaper and better.

I really like hearing what you guys have to say about this, given that you're kind of on the forefront of the industry. Great show, guys.

I with Brad on just downloading apps that I want and actually use for long periods of time. I've got IB1, IB2, temple run, fruit ninja and couple other stuff which I'll pretty much keep forever since, well, there pretty much what I'm looking for in games. Fun, addicitve, great to look at etc. Btw, I've also got some weird OCD thing going on to with apps.

I kinda like Blitz Brigade. Not the best game ever but I've had a lot of fun with it. I don't mind the virtual controls too much--you can customize the controls really well. It took me a while to play around with it and get things comfortable, but once I did I had a lot of fun. One problem with real shooters like Call of Duty or Team Fortress is they are SUPER hard because there are some super hard core players out there. I love Call of Duty but sometimes I'll play for like 20 minutes and I've killed like 2 people and I've died like 100 times and I just shut it off cause its not fun anymore cause everyone's so much better than me. But in this game I can murder people and its great! The bad controls are kind of good in this since--it kinda levels the playing field a bit! Not a 5 star game but its not too bad either.

Right here! I'm into the No Hand Washing scene, but lately I've really been into the "I pre-emptively flushed the toilet way too soon and had to flush a second time" streams.

I feel like I've been saying this for ages, but I'm fairly certain my hands are dirtier than my junk. If you're going to wash, it makes more sense to wash before you pee. I've argued with friends about this at length. I mean, society forces me to wash after I go, but, my true beliefs lie elsewhere.

    Loved it!

The ending topic about the seven minute workout really hit home for me. I've lost almost 80 pounds total throughout my life, and as you personally know, it took time, and a lot of effort. I remember early on the moment I realized that weightloss was way more mental than physical. Yeah, I had to work out and change up my diet, but getting over the mental block of finally doing it, and managing to stick with it. It was almost entirely in my head. My brain was just ready to make a million excuses for me, and it was begging to be distracted by everything out there. But with focus, it turns out that going out for a jog and getting some pushups wasn't hard at all, and actually felt incredibly rewarding. You just feel good, and it changes your outlook by quite a lot.

And now to download that truck parking simulator.
