‘Real Racing’ Drops to $6.99 this Weekend

366258_5We mentioned this in our previous sales update, but Firemint’s Real Racing has now dropped its price from $9.99 to $6.99 and is expected to remain there for this weekend only.

Real Racing is considered one of the most technically impressive racing games on the iPhone. We reviewed it back in June and loved the great controls, intelligent AI, and its technical achievements.

The game has since been updated with 6-player local Wi-Fi multiplayer, new cars, new career modes, and control options.

  3. Gnintendo

Wow, I've been planning to buy this when it went down again, but I eventually gave up and bought it last night.

It's a great game, but this kind of thing seems to happen to me a lot...

    Oh well, lol.

You guys should definitely buy it!

  4. yourofl10

    Great game, it's a steal at $6.99

  5. President of Earth

This racing game may be the best on iphone but it lacks on motivation.

    Search and install!

Is it just me or, does this hardly seem like a "sale" price...? Like Rad, I think Modern Combat is a sure winner in the lofty price range...

I own the Game since it has hit the iTunes Store and i have never and won't ever regret the Buy. Even i'm not a Pro - Driver as someother i enjoy coming back to Real Racing once in a while and race some Time Trials or play some Rounds in the Championship Mode or even compete in the Online Leagues against other Drivers over the hole World.

Sure, Real Racing might not be as easy to handle and is learning curve is steeper as it is in Gameloft's Asphalt 4, it's Ferrari GT Franchise or Electronic Arts Need for Speed Underground but, and that's why everyone who haven't bought the Game yet should ask himself what is keeping him from doing it, Real Racing is having a Feature - List that is so much longer then the mentioned Games and if your in Race Drving you really should give Firemints Real Racing a Hot Spot on your iPhone as all those mentioned Games do have on my iPhone and will always have since each one of them is on it's own Way a fantastic Game and i love them Playing.

I’ve got to admit that I’ve kept away from this game due to the price (which is really stupid as I wouldn’t think twice of paying that on any other system), but this is a really, really nice game and beats all the other racers I’ve played on the iPhone so far and I’ve played a few =) I was really surprised at how smooth the controls are even on my iPhone 3G.
Trust me, this really worth the price and you will keep coming back to it time and again.
It’s probably the most complete game I’ve seen for the iPhone and it deserves some support from all the other users complaining about weak, shallow games.

    woah, interesting concept!

  11. PitchBlak

Kinda like a more sophisticated version of Shift. Nice.

  12. Vicente Ragal

Looks promising, and way better than Shift.

  13. reinhart_menken

It looks like f*** of a lot of work to do just to play a game, flipping it ALL the time.

  14. Blade

Looks like a fun game, but I think having to stop and turn the iPhone/touch back and forth several times a level will get boring quickly.

  15. arta

Fancy version of Shift, and at least in that game the black and white artstyle made things clearer and you didn't have to literally flip the entire device, just press a button and the view flips on its own. Unless htere is an option for that in Flipt this could get old quick. Please relay the info to them.

  16. Dudehuge

Yep, it's SHIFT with a brand new coat of paint. I got tired just by looking at that. This is a premiere example of a good idea on paper that will get old really quickly in actual implementation. It will be alright in the first few minutes, then I will say, f*ck it just give me a button to flip the screen.

  17. matriax

Is practically equal than Shift but with better GFX and with acelerometer controls.

Use the Acelerometer is good in any cases, but in this is a little dizzy movin all the time.

BTW, is a great game and think will have good sales.

  18. tom

I like the look of it, kinda "Flashback" but this tilting drives me crazy just from looking at it...

  19. DreamEnder

I like the tilting aspect. Pressing a button is boring and besides games don't make enough use of the accelerometer. I don't think it'll get old and I'm sure the game will be pretty challenging.

  20. Eric

yeah, i've actually played this game myself (friends with one of the developers) and trust me, the turning the phone around doesn't bother you at all, it's a puzzle game so you don't have to turn it around quickly or alot, only at strategic times.

and it doesn't feel anything like shift.
    my R2

  21. jeffyg3

that green flash of light when you turn the screen around is really annoying. I hope you can turn that off when the game comes out.

  22. Chris

Wow, looking very cool! I am sure it will be amazing when its finished!! :D

  23. jason

The constant flipping was annoying in shift. I assume this will be the same.
That said, it does look like an awesome game, I just wont be playing it :P

  24. Wildicv

I like the overall game idea. It’s a interesting change to how the acelerometer has been utilized in other games. Clearly most people here who seem to be commenting don’t understand the amount of Ingenuity it takes to create games like this specially with the limited hardware on the iphone itself.

In short looks like fun I’ll be picking it up when it comes out.

    1. Doodle

Wow the graphics looks impressive!! Def one to buy!
