The time is quickly approaching in which we'll finally be able to get our hands on Joe Dever's Lone Wolf from Forge Reply, the digital conversion of the classic gamebook series. Like the books, Lone Wolf on iOS will be episodic, and split into four parts. Today it was announced that the first episode, Blood on the Snow, will launch on November 14th.

For more insight, check out our hands-on TA Plays video of an early build of Lone Wolf that we played back in April of this year. There was also an official trailer released back in August, and a video interview with Joe Dever himself talking about his role in bringing Lone Wolf to digital platforms. Finally, our forums are where you can find community discussion, and don't forget to mark your calendars for Blood on the Snow to land later this month on November 14th.

It loads on iPod 4G but the framerate in the combat sections is really choppy so it's very hard to play. That's why we prefer to consider it as not included in list of the supported devices, along with iPhone 4.

        Will it be 64bit/A7-enhanced?

      • Forge Reply

Not yet but we're definitely thinking about it.

Consider that the game is already gorgeous on iPad 4/Air.

    Read that as John Denver.

Looking forward to this more than Oceanhorn

One look alone we can see the appeal of it, it's great for new things.

Can't wait. Am saving my credit on the App Store just for this.

This AND Oceanhorn?? November is going to be a great freaking month!

    Looking forward!!

Will this be free? Also, I loved the books and maybe the whole saga could be converted into a video game saga itself. A visual challenge and finally an interactive Magammund!

Free? Do you work for free? Do you work? Have you seen the game? I'd pay £10 to ensure the dev continues work to support it, adding new features and hopefully creates a sequel.

        Thanks for your support.

It's great to hear that players are still disposed to spend money on a premium game like this.

    • Forge Reply

      No, it's a premium game.

We're confident about this choice as the quality is very high and the game it's not only a simple paper gamebook in a digital form.

For weeks now I've made sure to load the Touch Arcade app just to see if my Watch List had updated. So very stoked for this game! Can't wait to introduce my 12-year-old son to Lone Wolf!

    • Forge Reply

Many devs of the team were introduced to fantasy literature by the Lone Wolf books so it's great to hear that you're going to do the same with your son!

What's the price going to be? I need to know so I can budget this in for the month.
