We've already covered the vague unveiling of Tiger Style's upcoming Lost Mars, but this afternoon they released a gameplay video which connects a lot of the dots in the mysterious screenshots. Give it a look:

We'll go into much greater depth this coming Monday when we have the developers on our bonus podcast, but Lost Mars is an "action farming" game set in the caves of Mars. With similar controls to Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor [$2.99], moving is all accomplished by touching on screen in the direction you want to go. Seeds are collected and thrown into fertile ground to satisfy goals to progress to the next area as you spread alien life throughout the caves. We've had our hands on a very early preview version of the game, and you can definitely see where the game is headed, even in its early form.

Stay tuned for the bonus podcast on Monday, where you'll be drowning in Lost Mars details.

    After watching that Trailer i am more then unsure if this will work out at the End but i am open for everthing so i`ll wait and judge the book by it`s content and not by it`s cover. Looking forward to play it in a few months.

    I'm praying its universal or has a ipad version.

      The video capture was done on the iPad, and while we haven't decided about Universality, the game will definitely be on both iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch

    Please tell us which iOS games are coming tonight!

    Looks interesting... Can't wait to see more of it!

    Still hard to tell what's going on but I like the visuals.

      Agreed.  The vid makes it hard to tell what the objective is and how the gameplay works, exactly.  I guess the same could be said of Spider.  And I think that's a good thing.  :D

    Tiger Style created what I personally conside the best game in Appstore - Spider-Mistery of Bryce Manor.  I hope that this game will have at least some of the magic.  So far I don't like what I see.  Graphics, movement, etc don't inspire.  I know this is just a video of an early version and I hope that the final product will wow me like"Spider" did.

    I'm not a big fan of the art, especially the character portraits. I'll reserve judgement, though, since I like the premise.

      The character portraits are placeholder (I know, showing placeholder art is a questionable move... we just wanted people to get a sense for the presence of conversations in the experience).

      Also, the level and character art are all still a couple of steps away from complete.  Spider looked ugly as sin until the final weeks of the project, so I hope you like the way it looks when we're actually done!

    The visuals somewhat remind me of the PC game Aquaria.  Wonder if it will be similar?  That was a fantastic game...

    This looks quite interesting. Come on iPad version!

    @tigerstylegames Work on Ipod Touch 2g ?

    • Anonymous

      We're gonna try, but I can't promise anything.  It runs on every device today... but we have big performance problems on the first-gen / 3G class devices.  The game runs great on everything from the 3GS up.

    This game does look quite interesting and unique. Wiill the the music for This title be as thoughful as Spider-Mistery of Bryce Manor?  because to me that was some of the most amazing and beautiful music for an IOS game.
