Massive Sales on Doom Classic, Doom Resurrection, 2XL ATV Offroad
posted by arn on December 21st, 2009 9:35 AM EST in iPhone games, iPod touch gamesThe holidays are triggering even more massive sales from some major titles. Here are a few of the biggest from the past few days.
- 2XL ATV Offroad ($7.99 -> $0.99) – For only $0.99 you can get a really high quality ATV racer from 2XL. We highly recommended it at $7.99, so it really a "must buy" for $0.99.
- Doom Classic ($6.99 -> $2.99) – The classic first person shooter is back and now cheaper than ever. For only $2.99 you can relive it on your iPhone.
- Doom Resurrection ($6.99 -> $1.99) – It may be on rails, but it still evokes that Doom feel. Check out our review, we really enjoyed this one.

I really want 2XL ATV Offroad, but I just spend all my iTunes credits….
Man, do what you have to do to get that dollar. A dollar for a game of 2XL ATV's caliber is simply too good to let go by. You'll regret it later. Just find that dollar and get this.
Well, I use giftcards and U don't think I'll have the time to buy one… I'm sure I'm going to regret it…
I found Supercross dull eye candy, and Wolfenstein for only the most hardcore of retro fans, so can't say I'm excited about their app store successors.
Doom Res however is a no brainer.
Sweet, I bought 2XL ATV Offroad while it was on sale. Thanks!
Wolfenstein 3D Platinum Edition is on sale for $0.99. (Down from $1.99.) That should be included in the list as well. Especially since it's a killer deal at that price.
You get:
- The original 3 episodes (30 levels)
- The 3 "nocturnal" episodes (30 levles)
- All of Spear of Destiny (21 levels)
- The ability to download extra maps for free!
What's not to like?
I wish we would get a Holiday update with Doom Classic that would include Doom 2!
Although I spent all my iTunes money on NOVA, I immediately found that extra euro for 2XL ATV!!!!!!
Does 2XL ATV have BT or wifi local multiplayer ?
Only local wi-fi. No bluetooth at the moment
buying 2XL now!
Wow, all on sales!
Does 2xl have a freeroam mode? To me, that's one of the best parts of games like this.
ya it has 2 big free roam tracks
I was a bit disappointed with 2XL ATV Offroad… mostly because of the engine sounds… it just ruins the game..
there's an option in the sounds menu to turn that down independently of the other sounds. hope that improves your $1 experience.
That's not the kind of solution i was hoping for, but it does help a lot
nope… not in Germany….
Gotta say- all the sales developers drop on so many apps has me convinced there's zero reason to ever buy a game when it comes out or at full price…
depends how long you are willing to wait…
>> We highly recommended it at $7.99, so it really a "must buy" for $0.99.
Good logic and grammar there.
Chill out…
How should I hold the phone when playing 2XL ATV? Flat? Upright? It seems like my weight is always distributed to far back like I am tilting the phone too far back. Is there a way to calibrate it? Awesome game if I can get that corrected.
I would appreciate if id Software came back to the New Zealand App Store as all they have on the App Store atm is Wolf 3D Lite
bought doom and atv since its sales week
bit annoyed with doom, got to the end with tonnes of armor and ammo .. died annoyingly and clicked restart, lost all the equipment id got! it didnt use ma last saved game
gah .. apart from that its really good!
atv is one of the most spectacular looking idevice games around with career mode to boot. good job! shame then the tilt controls are horrible. why no touch option sigh. still, will persevere n get ma bargains worth
There's an NES emulator in the appstore:
Nescaline, by Jonathan Zdriarski
the emulatot has been available as NES3 in the cydia store for quite sone time, and has somehow made it past Apple's defensive walls. GET IT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!
Can you reverse in 2XL? My brother's getting slightly annoyed. =P
* Brake
Doom Resurrection is the best LOOKING game* on the iPhone (that I have seen on my 3G). It also happens to be fun, especially for Doom 3 fans.
* Some new challengers have emerged but I don’t own them… yet!
