Hopefully, you've been saving your pennies because notable iPhone gaming releases keep coming on a daily basis.
Gameloft is a company that has impressed us on the iPhone with their Asphalt 4 and Real Football (Soccer) 2009 titles. Tonight, they released a port of their existing Block Breaker Deluxe 2 [App Store] priced at $4.99.
If you haven't already bought Atari's Super Breakout, you may want to wait to evaluate this title. Features include:
The version of the game for other mobile platforms was reviewed by Pocket Gamer and was described as "terrifically addictive" and "highly recommended".

Nice to see another reasonably priced game from a good developer. Makes you wonder if $4.99 is becoming the new $9.99 …
This is WAY better than Atari's Breakout. The visuals are gorgeous and the game is fun.
Got a copy this morning — very nice game. Excellent production values as expected from GameLoft. Very similar to Bubble Bash in overall 'feel'. Plenty of levels, powerups, unlockables, good graphics… and that random level generator should really add some replay value.
Definitely worth the money so far.
I agree this is better than Atari's Breakout. I got bored playing Super Breakout. This one has a lot of extra powerups etc… and the game structure seems much better.
we'll get some formal reviews upsoon.

Got it this morning. Love it! Better than all the other breakout-type games like this I tried.
