Earlier this month, Square Enix announced that Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, the mobile exclusive prequel to the superb JRPG Octopath Traveler, will be coming to North America and Europe this year. If you’ve not followed it, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is set in the same universe as the main console game with characters from it showing up. It features more playable characters in combat, the same gorgeous aesthetic brought over to mobile, great music, and more. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent finally released in Japan back in October 2020 and it will be arriving in North America and Europe this summer. A closed beta is planned for Android as well. Watch the Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent English release trailer below:
Unlike most free mobile releases from Square Enix in recent years, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is a single player RPG that happens to be free to play. If you’d like to try it out on Android soon, you can register for the closed beta on Google Play here. As of now, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent has only been confirmed for North America and Europe. Hopefully Square Enix does release it in more territories at launch and gives us a full country list ahead of time. An official Facebook page for the game’s Western release is here. If you’d like to check the Japanese release of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent out, you can get Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. Check out the official Japanese website here. Did you play Octopath Traveler on PC or Nintendo Switch and are you looking forward to Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent?
