Motion Twin announced an iOS port of the critically acclaimed Dead Cells ($8.99) a little while ago. The port is being handled by the fantastic Playdigious and it has been going through some beta testing through their Discord server for a bit. Dead Cells is definitely one of the highest rated indie games in recent times and it had a super successful early access period on Steam before it arrived on consoles including Nintendo Switch. Watch the trailer for it below:
Pre-orders for it went live on the App Store for it a month ago with a price of $7.99 which is a lot less than the $24.99 asking price on PC and consoles. Today, the App Store listing for the game has changed from July 17th to August 28th. The price on the App Store right now is the discounted rate. The final price will be $9.99 which is still less than half of the other platforms. A delay is disappointing for anyone looking forward to the release but I’m sure the reason will be worth it when the port releases and people are hopefully happy with the performance and controls. Have you played Dead Cells yet?

Well that’s disappointing looks like I’ll have to play it on my pc, Xbox or Switch lol
I have this game on Switch. It is by far one of the best Roguelites I have ever played, definitely worth buying !
My favorite Roguelites :
1. Enter the Gungeon
2. Binding of Isaac
3. Dead Cells
Sure I am disappointed that a fantastic game like Dead Cells is a little delayed. I rather play a game from a developer that take the effort to fine tune the game for the best possible gameplay experience than a developer that may think ”release the game so long it is playable and make some money” I really miss “the good old days” when I bought my SNES all my cassette games are still playable without the need for updating opatches etc.the only knowledge you needed was “blow in the cassette technique”
GAAAAAAHHHHHHH Darn!
Was really looking forward to playing this on my phone...
Oh well... guess it back to loading up Steam...
=P
Looking to playing this on the train.
I'm still debating if I should keep my iOS pre-order, or buy the physical copy that comes out on PS4 the same week. Does anyone know if the mobile version will include the Rise of the Giant DLC?
On the Discord channel, they have stated it will not contain Rise of the Giant, at launch.
