Stardew Valley recently arrived in Apple Arcade as an App Store Great. Game creator Eric Barone (ConcernedApe) has been slowly teasing and revealing more of what we can expect in the major upcoming Stardew Valley ($4.99) 1.6 update. After confirming a new festival, new items, more dialogue, secrets, and more, we’ve had some teaser images, and today’s reveal is a big one. Eric posted a list of new features and highlights coming in Stardew Valley 1.6. Stardew Valley was originally confirmed to make the game easier and more powerful to mod presumably on PC only, but the reveal today confirms that 8 player multiplayer is coming to PC, two mini festivals are planned, new late-game content will be added, winter outfits for all villagers, a new reward type for billboard requests, 100+ new lines of dialogue, and a lot more. You can check out the full post here.
The last major update on mobile brought in new end game content, quality of life features, the ability to move beds, a new Beach Farm, advanced game options, and a lot more. This huge 1.6 update is being worked on as a break from Haunted Chocolatier. Stardew Valley 1.6 still doesn’t have a release window for mobile or any platform, but I hope it does come to mobile soon after the PC and console versions. If you haven’t tried Stardew Valley yet, read our original review. We even featured it as our Game of the Week. You can buy it on the App Store for iOS here and for Android here on Google Play. If you own a Nintendo Switch and an iOS device, I compared both versions of the game to help you find the best platform to play it on. Here’s our forum thread on the game for more discussion. What do you think of Stardew Valley on mobile and what else would you like to see in 1.6 in the future?
