SEGA just announced (via Gematsu) that the 2022-released mobile RPG Sin Chronicle will be shutting down this May. Sin Chronicle debuted in Japan in March 2022 following its reveal at TGS 2021. Sin Chronicle was supposed to launch in December 2021 in Japan, but it was delayed to March last year. At release, Sin Chronicle promised to be a true role-playing experience with your decisions having big consequences at the end of each chapter. It included big free roaming open fields, hack and slash combat, and more with music by Kevin Penkin (Star Wars Visions, Florence) with guest composers including Masashi Hamauzu (Final Fantasy), Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger), Yuzo Koshiro (Etrian Odyssey, Streets of Rage), and a lot more.
Sin Chronicle in app purchases have been disabled as of today. The one-year anniversary will begin later this week with more chapters and content coming leading into the service ending on May 31st. Refund requests can be submitted after. More details on how the service will progress leading into the game closing are here. Sin Chronicle is currently available in Japan on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here in Japan only. With service ending in a few months, are you going to try out the Japanese release for Sin Chronicle?
