A little while ago, Feral Interactive were teasing a new project after bringing classics to mobile already in the form of Company of Heroes, Tropico, Rome: Total War, and more. That was just revealed to be the XCOM 2 Collection. XCOM 2 Collection is something I never thought would be on iOS considering how demanding it is on PC and how poorly it ran on PS4 and Xbox One at launch. After it was ported to Nintendo Switch recently (with a big download needed), I was hoping an iOS port was on the horizon. Feral Interactive just announced the XCOM 2 Collection for iOS as a premium release with a trailer showcasing it. Check out the XCOM 2 Collection iOS website here for screenshots of the conversion. Watch the XCOM 2 Collection iOS trailer below:
The XCOM 2 Collection releases on November 5th for iOS as a premium port. It requires iOS 13.1 and later. For devices, it runs on iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, and any iPhone since the iPhone X. For iPad, it runs on all iPad Pros released since 2017 and all iPad models released since 2019. This means the supported iPhone models are below:
iPhone 11 Pro Max
iPhone XS Max
iPhone 11
iPhone XR
iPhone 11 Pro
iPhone XS
iPhone X
iPhone 8 Plus
iPhone 7 Plus
2nd generation iPhone SE
The supported iPads are below:
iPad Pro 12.9 4th generation (2020)
iPad Pro 12.9 3rd generation (2018)
iPad Pro 11 2nd generation (2020)
iPad Pro 11 1st generation (2018)
iPad Pro 12.9 2nd generation (2017)
iPad Pro 10.5 (2017)
iPad Air (2019 3rd generation)
iPad mini (2019 5th generation)
The XCOM 2 Collection needs 8.5GB of free space to install the game and all content and requires 17GB of free space during installation to avoid any issues. The price point is great because the collection costs $49.99 on Nintendo Switch. I’m very curious to see how it runs on modern iOS devices compared to the consoles. The XCOM 2 Collection for iOS includes the XCOM 2: War of the Chosen and four DLC packs. It is priced at £23.99 / $24.99 / €27,99. Have you played it on any platform yet?
