This year, Tokyo Game Show is taking place in an online format. Over the years, we’ve been covering (thanks to Shaun) the various developer and publisher showcases at Tokyo Game Show with hands-on demos, interviews, and more. With a global pandemic, things are obviously very different this year. It is already September 1st in Japan and many publishers and developers have begun revealing their plans for Tokyo Game Show 2020. Square Enix just announced its lineup for the event with many mobile games and the livestream schedule even has a few empty slots with coming soon placeholders so expect a few new game reveals and announcements. Romancing SaGa Re;universe (Free) finally arrived internationally this year and it will be present at Square Enix’s showcase which also features other mobile games and console titles. The event will be broadcast on YouTube and you can watch it below when it goes live beginning on September 24th (or 23rd depending on your timezone):
The mobile games being showcased by Square Enix at TGS 2020 are below:
- Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Tamashii no Kizuna
- Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca’s Marvelous Mysterious Key
- Dragon Quest Rivals Ace
- Dragon Quest Tact
- Dragon Quest Walk
- Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
- Romancing SaGa Re;universe
- War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
- Toji no Miko: Kizamishi Issen no Tomoshibi
Most of the games above aren’t available in the West yet as expected and the Dragon Quest franchise definitely has the biggest showing as expected. The full livestream timing and event details with links to stream for other days are here. If you’re interested in playing Romancing SaGa Re;universe, check it out here on the App Store for iOS and here on Google Play for Android. I’m hoping Square Enix finally announces a mobile version of Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy X this year. What would you like to see from Square Enix at TGS 2020?
