Bandai Namco Entertainment launched Digimon ReArise (Free) only in Japan a year ago. It brought an original story featuring Digimon to iOS and Android devices. Characters designs for it were done by none other than Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru who is one of the original Digimon anime character. Bandai Namco Entertainment announced a North American and European release for Digimon ReArise a little while ago for October. Watch the original English trailer for it below:
Digimon ReArise had an App Store listing that pointed to release later this month. It has gone live early on the App Store and Google Play. Digimon ReArise is free to play with in app purchases and it features real time battles with support for up to 5v5. Clash Battles let you take on more powerful enemies with other tamers in co-op. If you’ve not played a Digimon game in a while or ever and own a Switch, a collection of one great RPG and one decent sequel is releasing next week. As expected, Bandai Namco has made sure to release the free to play mobile game nearly the same time as the console and PC port. I can’t wait to see the cross promotion. If you’re interested in checking Digimon ReArise out, it is now available for free on the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android. Check it out here on iOS and here on Android. What is your favourite Digimon game?
So from what I can tell from a few hours of play... is this:
- You auto battle in stages, which each have multiple rounds of enemies. You can control the two "moves" each Digimon has available, otherwise the Digimon battles without any interaction.
- You can recruit new Digimon using Gems (available for completing in-game quests and available for purchase using real-life money).
- Those Digimon can level up and be combined together to create more powerful versions of said Digimon.
- It's basically like every other Gatcha game that exists, so take your pick.
- One unique feature is finding eggs, hatching eggs, playing games/training with your Digimon in a Digimon "town" that you can decorate. It's the only thing that separates this game apart from similar games like Pokemon Masters, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and the like.
IAP prices range from $0.99 to $69.99 - so be careful out there kids!
