What makes a good mobile esport game? That is a question that many developers (and investors) are dying to answer, but it's not an easy one to figure out. The developers of Arena of Valor, Tencent's huge MOBA, are also wondering whether the game will make for a good esport, and they want to hear from players tomorrow during the game's first Reddit AMA. At 17:00 CET, you'll get a chance to talk to the developers about Arena of Valor's esport potential, whether you think changes are needed for the game to take off, or even whether the esport effort and money should be put elsewhere...

'Arena of Valor' Apologizes for US Release Delay With More Pre-Registration Rewards

You know the saying about how every cloud has a silver lining? Well, that's pretty much the case with Arena of Valor. If you remember, we were expecting the game to launch in the US this month, but, unfortunately, Tencent had to push the game back to 2018 in order to polish it and add new gameplay and social features. The delay is pretty unfortunate, especially since I know many of you were anxiously waiting to get your hands on what appears to be a great MOBA game with a ton of fun heroes. However, there is a bit of a silver lining here; to make up for the delay and for forcing players to wait for months before getting their hands on the game, Tencent is improving its pre-registration rewards...

Tencent's MOBA Arena of Valor continues to take the world by storm partly because it seems to be a great game but also because it comes with the might of Tencent behind it. What I'm excited about is the ability to play with the game's many DC Heroes—Batman and many others—and now we know the next hero who's coming to the game, the Joker himself. In a short teaser posted on Arena of Valor's Twitter channel, we got to hear the Joker's unmistakable—and creepy—laugh but didn't get to see any more of the hero. According to reddit, we'll be getting Batman, the Joker, Superman, and Wonder Woman, in that order, and, of course, I can't wait for Wonder Woman...

The huge MOBA Arena of Valor, aka Honor of Kings in Asia, is picking up steam as it gets ready to release in NA next month, and if you want to see it in action, you can watch live streams of the game during TwitchCon this weekend. Starting today, you can hear more about the game in developer interviews but, more importantly, see people who are good at it play it live. And if you're one of the lucky ones already playing the game (if you're in Europe for example), you can participate in various contests. And there's a chance to win Batman (because he's actually in the game) if you share an image of you playing as Batman or against Batman. While the contests and all are fun, I'm just curious to see more of the game in action...

Arena of Valor, the huge MOBA coming our way in November, is about to start a live stream on its Twitch channel that will show off the game, answer all kinds of questions about the game, and showcase the game's latest updates. And with the game coming to the US soon, we might hear more about the developers' plans for the game. You can watch the stream below, and if you miss it while its live, you can watch it later if you head over the Arena of Valor's Twitch channel. I'm sure many of you are anxiously waiting to check out more about the game, so it's definitely worth watching the stream to see what the fuss is all about...

'Arena of Valor' US/Canada Pre-registration Is Live

Arena of Valor, Tencent's huge MOBA also known as Honor of Kings in China, has been available in Europe for a few weeks now, and today it looks like a US and Canada release is getting closer. If you're one of the many, many players anxiously waiting to get their hands on this super-popular game, you'll be glad to know that you can now pre-register for the US and Canada, and pre-registering gets you some nice rewards. You will get a limited skin for the hero Ormarr as well as 108 gems and double experience card when pre-registrations reach 100,000 (which I'm prety sure they will). And if you get 5 friends to pre-register too, you get a Level 3 Arcana chest as a thank you from the developers. The page doesn't provide any hints regarding a release date, but it can't be too far into the future...

Tencent's MOBA 'Arena of Valor', or 'Honor of Kings' Has Launched in Europe

A few weeks back, we wrote about Tencent's announcement that Honor of Kings, its huge MOBA hit, was finally breaking out of the Chinese borders and heading westwards. Today, that game has switched names to Arena of Valor and has launched in Europe on both iOS and Android. The game was already in soft launch in some stores as Strike of Kings, but this is the official launch in that territory. This MOBA has been huge, and it will be very interesting to see how it does in other markets. Arena of Valor uses the classic 3-lane maps of MOBAs like League of Legends, but it's been made to work well on mobile. The matches usually last less than 10 minutes, which is good for players on the go. There are different modes including 5v5, 3v3, and even 1v1...
