‘Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2’ Trailer Hits

The first episode of Sonic 4 hit in 2010, which seems like ages ago with how quickly the iOS world worked. In our review, we liked it so much that we said we needed the rest of the episodes yesterday. Well, per the recently released trailer, it should be available during the vague release window of “Spring":

We’re excited. How can you not be? Let’s just hope there’s not a two year lull between episodes two and three, eh?

Thank you for an amazing article, Simogo's games are unique and visionary, and a heck of a lot of "pick up and play" fun! I love how iOS and the Apple App Store model allows such unique creations to reach a wide audience.

Oh and I SO want to play mustache bandits!

Simogo's hard work shows... Beat Sneak Bandit was a game I literally couldn't put down for a few days. When I did finally put it down, it was because I had completed all the levels, collected all the clocks, and unlocked every single achievement. There was literally nothing left to do in the game.

This happens rarely for me with video games... The only other iOS one I've done this for is "Where's My Water?", and the non-iOS games include the likes of Portal 2 and Braid.

I'll be keeping an eye on Simogo's releases in the future!

I will always insta-buy a Simogo release*. Always. I have never been let down. I always find they spend a lot of time trying to come up with original control schemes - something not enough developers concentrate on.

    * my list of insta-buy developers is not vey long. simogo, llamasoft, rocketcat, chaotic box, nyarlu labs, true-axis, and some pc developers who haven't released their iOS stuff yet... am i missing any?

Thanks for the extensive interview! This game is absolutely fantastic and it was really cool seeing all the concept art for it. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Please do more articles like this!  I love getting an inside look at a development house, especially one as talented as Simogo.

Saw Eli's twitter post about this kind of content being a new direction for Touch Arcade. As someone who loves being able to KickStart different projects, getting in to the development process of these games like that, and seeing the active role developers take on the message boards to listen to and respond to the community, these kinds of features are very welcome. More please!

Really enjoyable piece about one great studio. Congrats Brad for bringing that special "Bonus Episode" interview style while keeping it on topic.
Not that I didn't like their games before, but knowing what happens behind the scenes is always a plus. I find quite surprising the art style chosen - when I played it for the first time I would have never expected all that thought went into it.
