One-Handed Twitch Platformer ‘Blitz Breaker’ Finally Releasing August 1st

It’s been a bit of a long time coming, but twitchy platformer Blitz Breaker is finally arriving on the App Store August 1st. We first talked about Blitz Breaker back in February of last year, and then a few months later checked out a cool web demo that let us play a very early version of the game. This is a twitch platformer-ish game with swipe-based controls, and I’d probably describe it as Tomb of the Mask (Free) meets The Last Rocket ($1.99). Once you swipe, you’ll fly in that direction until you hit something, so there’s almost a puzzle element built around collecting each item and opening the exit to a level while also avoiding a multitude of hazards. Check out the latest trailer.

Since its original announcement, Blitz Breaker has actually launched on desktop for Windows as of this past February. You can find it on itch.io as well as directly on Steam, if you want to take a stab at this one on desktop. Those holding out for the mobile version won’t have long to wait, however, as Blitz Breaker is set to launch this coming Monday, just a couple of days ahead of the normal batch of new releases. I’ve been anticipating this one since its first announcement, and I’ll be very happy to finally be able to give Blitz Breaker a shot in a little less than a week from now. Look for it August 1st at a price of $2.99.
