Harmonix, the creators of Rock Band and Dance Central, first appeared on the iOS scene with the weird video app VidRhythm [$1.99] and while we thought it was great in our review it wasn’t really a game per se. Today, during Pax East, the announced a new mobile game called Record Run. It’s an endless runner that uses your library of songs. As you’ve probably guessed by now you’ll jump, run and slide to get as far as you can, collecting vinyl records along the way.

recordrun

That’s not the only mobile title that we’ll see from Harmonix either as they’ve shown more than 13 prototypes that are currently in development. Record Run should be out soon, as a Free-to-play title.

What if I don't have music on my device? ō.Õ

I've heard promises of such games since the day App Store opened. Few ever worked out. I just wonder why this seems to be such a "cursed" concept on mobile devices?

Anyway, it's from Harmonix, so they probably know what they're doing.

My music is mostly extremely fast, so I'm interested to see how this will work.

    Man. I still miss Phase.

Ha. I still have vidrhythm. Such a cool app.

Just like Song Summoner, I am alienated by not having music on my phone.

    Ah well.

      I have 393 songs... ( O .o)
      I'm a music addict... :-(

      • Siveon

        Good for you.

      • Bradb13

        Yes it is. :-p

Music in my library? I can't say that's been the case for at least a year, I just stream it all. Still love Harmonix so I'll check it out.

Can we have Frequency and Amplitude Mobile please?

    • xzeldax3

You really want to try to play those without physical buttons??? Switching lanes and tapping notes would be impossible unless severely dumped down.

  • Bradb13

Wow, this is great sense I have tons of music.. :D
