wonderflickLevel-5 has announced a new RPG title called Wonderflick which is heading to just about every platform you can think of, VG 24/7 reports. That includes iOS, Android, PlayStation 3 and 4, Vita, Wii U and Xbox One. What is really interesting is that all the various versions will utilize a cross-save functionality that Level-5 is calling Uniplay, which sounds like you'll be able to continue your progress on the platform of your choice without issue. However, Level-5 does note that each version of the game will contain unique content to that platform, so it doesn't quite sound like you'll be playing the exact same games across each. The following trailer shows what the mobile versions of Wonderflick will be like.

The battling definitely looks cool, and the "flicking" during it is actually how the game gets its name. Unfortunately, a Western release for Wonderflick hasn't been confirmed yet, so it's up in the air whether or not we'll be seeing it here in the US. In Japan though, Wonderflick is set to arrive on mobile in November, with the console releases following sometime in 2014. If we get any word on it coming stateside we'll be sure to fill you in.

I was sold on this game when I saw Nobuo Uematsu on the credits.

They also announced Layton 7 for iOS. An RPGS game sadly and not a puzzle game

It's just crazy how far along mobile gaming has come. I remember playing the old LED Football as a kid and thinking how great THAT was!

    • pdSlooper

Ha, there's an app for that game!

  • eventide

Unless this is getting localized I'm not going to get excited only to get disappointed.

Level-5 had awesome RPGs on the PSP. I'm totally pumped for this! Fingers crossed for english translation.

  • bobbstermang

    Wow! Looks very impressive.

  • mrmoisan

If that Uniplay feature works as advertised, they are going to set the bar so high regarding multiplatform gaming.
I'll want that in just about every game I play!

  • metalmandave83

Looks like a Mobage game with a bad art style and better graphics.

  • rpgmind

Oh wow, that looks super dope!!! And the music, yeeesh. Lets go level 5!!!

  • klouud

    I'm all in!

  • Boris Nguetie

Can we buy this by creating a japanese appstore account?

    • daniel schroeder

If it's free, yes. If it's not, you'll also need a means to pay in Yen.

      • Boris Nguetie

        Credit card??

      • pdSlooper

You can buy Japanese iTunes cards from all sorts of businesses, but since they're making a profit you'll pay about twice as much as normal.

I don't remember who I bought my card from, but you can buy as little as 500 yen (about $5). I went ahead and got a 1000 yen card and bought some Kairosoft games and some Uematsu music.

      • daniel schroeder

They probably already exist, but I feel like I could make a bit of side money by selling JP iTunes cards online. "Just PayPal me $25, and I'll send you a 2000 yen code!"

  • Dr. Woodenstein

Anybody else think this looks very Dragon Quest-ish? Which by the way has gotten me super interested.

  • JasperA66

    Wonder what happened to this?
