Companion_1_web_100152Ubisoft's E3 2013 press conference closed with a look at Tom Clancy's The Division, an MMO shooter RPG that's being created by the capable hands at Massive Entertainment. It looks a lot like the latest handful of third-person Ghost Recon games, except Division focuses a lot more on progression, cooperation, and has a persistent open world that players can shoot each other in.

We're introducing you to this, by the way, because it has second screen support. With a tablet or phone, players will be able to drop into the game as a drone that can support units in the proper game by providing healing and surveillance, according to iMore.

We've got a trailer below that shows off some of this, though it mostly focuses on The Division proper:

The Division is set to hit next year across Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

All I have to say is WOW!! Shooting tires to lower the car WOW!! This game is WOW!!

    • Adams Immersive

Embarrassing flashback. I played Strogg for months in Quake Wars before trying the human side. By sheer habit, I then shot all the tires out on the APC my teammates sent to help me. Oh, right... human vehicles are good now... I learned some new words over voice chat that day.

The amount of next-gen games and systems supporting tablets is insanity! So far we have The Division (Drone mode), BF4 (Commander Mode), WatchDogs (Maps), The Crew, and many more I imagine.

  • JaysUsernam

Wow...if this lives up to that!!

  • jForsythe

So looking forward to this game and watchdogs only a few months to go.
Going by the games that i have seen for the ps4 and Xbox one this gen looks like it could be our golden age of games for us. The games and graphics will only get better.

What I wonder is, since the game was showed of as "Online Open-world RPG" with several groups of players in one map (whether that's optional or not we don't know) can I pick up my tablet and just go in and find random groups to help or be a pain for? Or do I have to join with a group of friends? Sure hoping there is at least some matchmaking, base game looks neat but so does this.

This is smexy! I usually don't care for shooting games but this...I have never seen anything like this. I'm in!
