This week on the TouchArcade Show, we talk about ... the next generation of consoles and PCs. It's been a slow week otherwise, so we figured it'd be cool to go ahead and address some of the rumors we've been seeing and flesh out our expectations of what's to come in 2013 and 2014. If that's not your cup of tea, don't worry, we do get around to some iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone games. SEGA's arcade shooter After Burner Climax leads off that segment. Beastie Bay, Krashlander, and Roar Rampage closes it out.

We also touch on some news, surprisingly, including iPad 5 size rumors. And, lastly, we also get to your questions, comments, and feedback. Thanks for all the e-mails lately!

If you'd like to listen in, go ahead and bang one of the links below. If you're feeling froggy, you could subscribe to our podcast on iTunes or Zune Music + Video. The latter method is a good way to get us, since you'll get our stuff instantly.

It seems very hypocritical to me to try to discourage your readership from expressing their own opinion* about a game when it's part of your business to express whether or not you like a game and would recommend it. The only reason I read the comments is for a difference of opinion and I feel it helps me in my decision for purchasing a game. I want to hear if people have a conflicting view.

It's not the fact that people HAVE differing opinions, it's the manner in which they are delivered. We absolutely advocate people voicing their own opinions even if they differ from ours, ideally using well thought out arguments and with a friendly and non-combative tone. Healthy discussion about stuff is awesome!

Sadly, 99.999% of the time it's the exact opposite of that. It's the internet.

      • Karzay

That sounds reasonable. I apologize for my previous comment.

I'd agree with your comment in sentiment, but a case can be argued that it is often dictated as to what can be refuted, debated and argued on this site. For example, make any mention of IAP currency and often a poster is teleported to the wastelands of some obscure titled thread about "grass roots activists" (got a three day suspension myself awhile back for having very civil conversation about such and being pointed to the link and honestly questioning if the moderator was joking due to the title of the topic) even if the discussion has large bearing on how it affects a titles gameplay. Have a dissenting opinion on the wrong day with the wrong person on and don't expect much actual debate of or discussion so much as deflective responses and snarky retorts. It's not all the time but it happens more often than not here as I lurk the responses under game reviews and forum posts.

I've learned that if you want to stick around here, you can't have a dissenting opinion no matter how respectfully, properly articulated, well composed or expertly delivered it is. No country for old men and all that...

Our forums are moderated by volunteers. As the site has grown so has the need for more moderators, thus there is a wider variety of personalities and moderating styles out there and it's literally impossible for us to keep tabs on everyone and every thread.

So, if you feel you've been wrongly moderated or treated unfairly by someone then you should probably contact an administrator and make your case rather than passively aggressively leaving comments about it on front page articles.

Jesus Christ Apple, now there might be production of a new iPad??
Calm down a bit, you're making my iPad 2 look terrible, and I just got it last month -_-

  • pinpoint007

Thanks for mentioning the excellent Outrun 2! Such a great game...and very few people know about it! Also, I have an Apple TV and it blows my mind why Apple hasn't opened it up with an App store and downloadable games. It's just sitting there, waiting to happen.

    • Bool Zero

I just recently bought an Apple TV myself, and I'm amazed at how little Apple has actually done to further push this onto the market and to enhance its features further as you mention.
