‘Infinity Blade’ and ‘Infinity Blade II’ on Sale Ahead of Potential ‘Infinity Blade: Dungeons’ Launch?

TouchArcade Rating:

If you still don’t have Infinity Blade ($5.99) and/or Infinity Blade II ($6.99), now is your chance to get them on the cheap. Both are fantastic swipe-based sword fighting games which in recent App Store history have been often imitated but never duplicated. I’m not sure if it’s the fantastically nuanced combat, the seemingly endless item-based experience system, the weird SciFi-ish universe the games are mysteriously framed in, or something else entirely that makes the Infinity Blade series so awesome. Regardless, you need ’em.

If you need that extra push over the edge, check out our reviews of the first and second game.

The real question here isn’t what makes the Infinity Blade titles so good, but instead, why the sale on the eve of the Apple keynote? I’m getting strong readings from my proverbial tea leaves that Infinity Blade: Dungeons is going to make an appearance tomorrow to show off the power of the new iPhone. Maybe even a “Hey this is Infinity Blade: Dungeons, check out how awesome it is, by the way it’s available now." Remember, that’s the exact same song and dance Epic pulled with Epic Citadel (Free).

I guess we’ll see tomorrow!
