We've been following Crescent Moon's Raid Leader for what feels like way too long now. I've found myself saying for the past year how much I wish Battleheart was fleshed out into a larger game, as saying that Battleheart left me wanting more would be the largest understatement of 2011. We've covered how Raid Leader works in our preview:

In Raid Leader, you'll be taking a knight, a mage, and an archer, against a variety of damage-eating, MMO-like bosses that all appear to have special mechanical hooks. For example, there's a yeti-like monster with a freeze spell that turns its target into a block of ice. In order to break out, you'll have to tap on the screen. There's also a worm that, much to the archer and mage's chagrin, spawns mobs of life-sucking blood leaches all over the battlefield.

Now you can see all this in action in the recently released trailer:

Per the trailer, it's on track for a release next week. Stay tuned for a full review once the game actually hits.

crescent moons releases are nice to the eye, but sorry to so so boring. i can't get over how paper monsters even broke into the top 10. its like someone took every element from mario and slowed it to a snails pace. rant out of the way this game looks very similar to the other game by them, kids Vs goblins. reserved judgement til it lives up to battleheart.

Don't forget Evertales.... but past games aside, I do hope the gameplay here is just as engaging as Battleheart.

You're comparing Paper Monsters to the wrong game. The floaty controls and pace are based on LittleBigPlanet. LBP has a huge following, so that might explain why PM broke the top ten. That and it was featured on the front of the App Store. It might feel slow to you probably because it's aimed at a younger audience. With all that in consideration, I think Crescent Moon did an excellent job on the game.

Hopefully this'll be just as fun as Battlehearts.

I don't get it.  Based on that description and video, I don't see how this is more fleshed out than Battleheart.
