'Homerun Battle 3D' – Now With Cross-Platform Multiplayer

Lately it seems that we've been collecting an increasing number of comments in the discussions of some of the more popular games we've covered from Android users hoping to see more iPhone games in the Android Marketplace. Homerun Battle 3D [$4.99 / Free], a game we reviewed back when it was called Baseball Slugger, was released early last month for Android devices, and features cross-platform multiplayer– Allowing existing iPhone players to face off against Android-equipped online rivals.

Com2Us sent us the following video of a match between an iPhone and a Motorola Droid:

As more and more iPhone games eventually make their way to the Android Marketplace, I hope developers decide to follow Com2Us's lead and implement cross-platform multiplayer. The more people playing online the better, regardless of what game it is.

After many months of honing my iPhone game collection, Homerun Battle is probably the game I come back to the most (specifically because multi is fun and playable for short periods). This is good – now I will have more people to play with!

…a nice looking game that plays like crap and it's 2x crappy.

good use of adjectives there… Don't know what your smoking but this game have the best batting system out of all iphone baseball games… And it's pretty addictive before all that gear that cost real money came out.

HRB is easly one of the best iPhone games. Very addictive and the best multiplayer to date.

Fun game, until you realize that you won't last 2 seconds online if you don't spend way too much time playing or just spend $20 dollars for an in-app purchase..

Com2us got way greedy with this game.. that's something i hope others devs won't mimic..

Boy was I shocked when I went to play good ole slugger 2 days ago. I had ranked up quite a few points and goldballs playing, so I decided to go buy new gear. I went into the purchase area and found a ton of crap that costs money to buy!! It wasn't cheap either. GREEDY!!!!! Now, I can understand adding a pack of new gear, calling it an expansion and charging 0.99 for it, but the amount you pay for 1 thing is ridiculous. If memory serves me correctly, 1 shirt would cost like $5.00.

Any chance that this game gets ported to Palm's WebOs once the PDK gets released in March. I love this game, I always play it on my brothers Ipod Touch.
