If you're like me, you may not have even known that "Skee-Ball" was an actual brand. A fact that I'm sure Skee-Ball Amusement Games is none too happy about. Regardless, Freeverse has acquired an actual license to produce an official Skee-ball game for the iPhone.

Celebrating its 100th anniversary, Skee-Ball has been enjoyed by generations of players from boardwalks to arcades, and now Freeverse brings the fun to your iPhone! Developed by Graveck, the game's excellent physics and 3D graphics make rolling the signature Skee-Ball an extremely fun and exciting experience.

Freeverse has implemented a ticket-prize system allowing you to buy prizes and even different ball skins. But given the number of unofficial (and high quality) skee ball variants in the App Store, it's hard to predict how much demand there will be for an officially branded version.

Update: The developer of this official Skee-Ball game is the same developer as 10 balls 7 Cups [$0.99] which may have been the single best iPhone game trailer ever.

Good skee-ball comes down to one thing on the iDevices, PHYSICS PHYSICS PHYSICS! Looking forward to it though, as freeverse has rarely let me down (Except flick bowling)... But if they utilize the same Gravick physics as in 10 balls 7 cups then this will be a winner IMO! Oh wait just watched the video, this is 10balls7cups!?! Just looks like a different skin and visual prizes...

Just chiming in to say, great observation, it is in fact 10 balls 7 cups gameplay. Graveck's 10 balls 7 cups was a terrific game that may have generally gotten lost in the App Store shuffle. We worked with Graveck to remix it and add in prizes, and it works perfectly with the official Skee-Ball name!
The physics are unlike anything out there right now, they're totally realistic. We're excited to give this game another chance, because it deserves it!

I agree 10balls7cups is awesome! I just wish there was a way to transfer the 1000's of tickets I've earned there into this new one.. =P

When is Freeverse going to release their Hearts, Spades and Burning Monkey Solitaire games? I've been dying for some good Hearts and Spades games especially, and would kill for Freeverse to get these out.

Looks like fun, but with wasted space on the sides and top. Maybe a slightly different perspective (slightly higher and slightly zoomed in) would work even better?

As long as it has a TACO, though, what else matters?

    TACO.

So basically it's just an upgrade to 10 Balls 7 Cups? Visual prizes and new balls? Otherwise it looks unchanged. Kind of ... odd. Don't get me wrong, 10B7C is the undisputed best skee-ball game out there, but it just seems really weird that Graveck would effectively cannibalize sales of their own skee-ball game by making a better version of the same game for someone else. I'm guessing Graveck decided to go with a publisher for better visibility and because doing that would effectively make any upgrades to their existing game a new game under a new publisher's name, they decided to rename it and market it as a new game instead.

Sounds great 10B7C was great, because of the awesome physics and fun prize system. Since the prize system seems to be really deepened here, I can't wait. Hopefully the prizes are really overpriced, so there is more replay value, and realism.

I've tried several Skee Ball games and 10 balls 7 Cups is the best one in the App Store. Combining this with a great publisher like Freeverse will be a great thing. I'm looking forward to it.

We've worked with Graveck in the past (Big Bang Brain Games for Mac and PC). So getting to work with them again was awesome. We got to polish up 10 balls 7 cups. Fix some bugs, and get it playing official Skee-Ball rules and sounds.

And the Plus+ integration is really good.
