'Mecho Wars' 1.0.1 and 99¢ Sale

Oylaji Games' Mecho Wars [App Store] 1.0.1 went live today, bringing a short list of much needed changes to the game. One of the complaints in my review was the lack of detailed information, both about your own units as well as enemy units. 1.0.1 features a major UI update, giving players detailed statistics on their own forces, as well as seeing the movement and attack ranges of the enemy units.
Also included is an entire second campaign where you can play as the Landians, greatly expanding the somewhat limited single player campaign in the initial offering of Mecho Wars. Several new Challenge mode maps were also added.

For the current sale price of 99¢ with the new additions found in the 1.0.1 update, Mecho Wars recommended for all turn-based strategy fans.

I love turn based strategy games but I find mecho wars a big dissapointment.
The gameplay is way too slow, with a million animations and buttons to click just to do a single movement. It takes forever to get through a basic combat sequence.
The developer really needs to put some more thought into this and at least add an option to allow the animations to be sped up or skipped.
It's still £3 on the UK store…
Some times it's 59p but still comes up as £2.99. Try clicking "More Reviews" and seeing what it says then.
wait a hour or 2, the time it goes back to 0.99cents
I know this happens all the time (and it usually never bothers me) but I bought this on launch day only to see the game drop in price to a buck in less than a week. Lesson learned.
unfortunately no update will be able to remedy the troop design. :-/
That's my number one complaint as well. Not a fan of the design at all.
best strategy game out there! must buy!
While certain genres on the App Store are completely over-saturated (Match three, I'm looking at you.) there had been a distinct lack of turn based strategy games, which is a shame as the few that exist all work so well with touch controls. Mississauga Condominiums
I TOFTT on SurrounDEAD. Neat idea but the graphics are shit and the compass is not all that responsive, there's a significant delay. It would be more interesting if you could move around, too.
Got this one back up and running now that the up-date is there. It seems faster to me, which is a good thing. No more twiddling of thumbs too much in between goes. Plus you can skip more banners which is nice. The unit info is a great (and necessary) addition.
I don't usually wait for sales, but I somehow forgot to buy this game at regular price. The sale reminded me. Mission accomplished.
Unfortunately no instructions on how to play the game with the update, either.
Sorry to make my first post a gripe but I'll say I'm damn glad I found the site
and its info & comments-great stuff for a new touch gamer.
This game is fantastic. To those complaining about troop design, I think the cartoony SNES-y feel works really well, especially given the fact it's really intended for fans of Advance Wars.
I thanks for release the game.1.0.1 features a major UI update, giving players detailed statistics on their own forces, as well as seeing the movement and attack ranges of the enemy units.
