Konami has released new screenshots for their upcoming Metal Gear Solid Touch. The new screenshots are included below (click on thumbnails for full view).
In Metal Gear Solid Touch, players join forces with Old Snake as he battles the money-driven mercenaries of Private Military Companies (PMCs), Haven Troopers, Gekko, and the beautiful yet terrifying bosses of the B&B Corps. This commercial warfare adventure follows Old Snake across the Middle East, South America, Eastern Europe, and Shadow Moses as he depletes his enemies' stamina with various short-range and long-range weapons
The game will have twenty levels of gameplay, with a special "advance edition" of the game arriving with the first 12 stages in March. The final release will deliver the remaining eight stages and be a free upgrade.

any word on pricing yet?
This is such a missed opportunity. The iPhone is still just seen as a platform for totally throw away casual experiences, hence we get another dressed up Duck Hunt clone with this 'Metal Gear' game.
Konami have made several excellent handheld MGS games over the years, all they had to do was port Portable Ops from the PSP or even MGS Gameboy Colour and we'd of had a far better game than this effort. Konami haven't even bothered to use the iPhone's 3D hardware, just 2D cut outs… Very, very poor effort.
So this is iSniper and Time Crysis combined then? If it's well polished then it might be ok, sure hope it's not $9.99 just cuz of the brand though.
I would much rather see a MGS Acid experience on the iPhone. The strategy gameplay would be a perfect fit for the touch screen controls and would certainly offer more depth than this touch-based shooter.
If it's not all that great, maybe they'll realize the fans want something better and release another MGS game.
And hopefully it would be a lot more like the other portable games, or even like the console versions.
Here's hoping.
Y'know what would've been better? If Kojima and Konami had made this an adventure game, ala Kojima's classic titles Snatcher and Policenauts. For those that remember (or those that don't know), those were basically JP adventure games (think point and click) but also had action light gun sections. This could've worked similarly (take out the light gun and swap with tap to shoot) and would've been much more appreciated, IMHO, as the adventure gaming elements and storytelling would've been top notch and would've filled a void in the platform's library (high production value adventure games). As is, this is simply what looks to be a poorly put together tap shooter with some tidbits of story.
This is just a steppingstone game from Konami. Before making any hardcore game, the developers from Konami need to know if their game is making any money at all. If this game gain enough revenues for them, most likely Konami will continue making more games for the iphone. Business is business, money always come first.
does this game seem a lil short to you?
I mean i was expecting a lot……will there be updates of newer levels besides the ones they said in the discription?
This game has great graphics but i was expecting a lot more levels
The big devs simply still don't get it
just seeing the iPhone as an advertising platform.
Slow old bastards….
Holy CRAP that looks lame.
I completely agree. MGA would be insane on the iPod. I loved both games and have been wanting another for a long time. When I first saw the advertisement I thought they were going to announce MGA for the iPhone/iPod but I was very disappointed when I heard the news.
You guys just don't get it. Don't blame Konami. Blame Apple! How the hell do you expect them to port portable ops to the iPhone when it has no fricking buttons?!
Hopefully, Apple does the right thing next gen and either give us buttons or support an official gamepad addon.
They've posted a trailer on their site. see it in action
