I ended up getting The Great Prank War, Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10 Wrath of. Still have to beat Doombad, and Card Wars before moving to those but $3 was way to big of a deal to pass up.
ben 10 Ben 10 turned out to be a really good game. Like hbernritter said, it's more of a deck builder than a ccg. The gold/IAP system seems very fair to me. Basically you play with 3 slammers. (Think Pokemon TCG, with 1 active Slammer and 2 more on the bench). You buy the Slammers and level them up with gold. . . . The first time you beat a level the game is pretty generous, and you get gold by replaying levels as well. I did have an add or two pop up, and the game ballooned to about 450 megabytes installed. But, I would still recommend it over Card Wars. That game was basically "open a mystery chest, and hope you get lucky". At least in Ben 10 you can pick the Slammer you want and just buy it. . . . no "mystery chest" or "golden eggs" in this one Well worth the 99 cents IMO.
Hope this helps. Great Prank War -> tower defense Best Park in the Universe -> brawler Ghost Toaster -> single arena platformer (super crate box) Card Wars -> card combat Ben 10 Slammers -> deck builder/card combat Calling All Mixels -> tap to move and attack Nightmare Athon -> runner Ride Em Rigby -> runner Jumping Finn -> distance flyer (burrito bison) Rock Bandits -> runner Wrath of Psychobos -> tap to move and attack Gem Bound -> doodle jump Kinda interested in Mixels and Psychobos. Any comments on either?
I picked up Psychobos but have yet to play it, I'm sure I'll like it just being a Ben 10 fan. The reviews are generally favorable for what their worth. I'm also interested in Mixels but still not sure and would like to hear someones thoughts on it.
Ok, so PPG was developed by radiangames. Are any of these others made by equally awesome devs? PPG, I had watched back in the day when my oldest son was a baby, so I have a love for the old show. But I'm not really into or interested in any of the other series unless the gameplay is really just great from some solid developer.
Ghost Toasters is a lot of fun, I just puchased the optional coin doubler (to unlock additional characters/skins sooner) and find it better than Muffin Knight or Super Crate Box. This is because of levels that feel more layered (more platform driven) and enemies that seem diverse. Also the humor and polish is nice, and I have the menu theme song stuck in my head.
I bought Ghost Toasters when it eventually became available in the UK, and it's definitely fun. I've come to expect quality from Grumpyface Studios and wasn't disappointed. They have made some other Touch Arcade favourites, including: Wispin [Review] [Thread] Bring Me Sandwiches!! [Review] [Thread] Super Mole Escape [Review] [Thread] Castle Doombad [Review] [Thread]
Rock Bandits isnt really a runner. You are allowed to stop moving, or change direction like the usual platformers... The only difference is the controls. Movement controls are similar to Mirror's Edge which is a runner, but add in tons of platforming, blocks to destroy (Like in Mario or even Castlevania), and enemies to fight, and it becomes very similar to the pulled game Project 83113 which was a fantastic plaformer. One thing id add though, is that rock bandits feels a little sluggish, but that may just be me.
