Back in August, Koei Tecmo Europe and America announced a localization of Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX for iOS, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Today, the bundle has gone live on all three platforms, but the iOS versions are also available separately in the form of Monster Rancher ($15.99) and Monster Rancher 2 ($22.99). If you’ve not played Monster Rancher, it was originally released on the first PlayStation back in 1997 as Monster Farm in Japan. The series of simulation RPGs has gone through loads of releases across different platforms over the years and Koei Tecmo is now letting fans and newcomers check out Monster Rancher on three platforms in the West. Watch the Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX launch trailer below:
The original Monster Rancher and Monster Rancher 2 hit iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch in Japan a while ago but we weren’t sure about a potential international release. Thankfully, you can now buy both games on the App Store for iOS separately or as a bundle in addition to the Nintendo Switch and Steam versions. Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX is priced at $29.99 on Nintendo Switch and Steam. On iOS, Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX is a bundle priced at $29.99 as well with the individual games priced at $15.99 and $22.99. If you’d like to get them, you can buy Monster Rancher here, Monster Rancher 2 here, or the discounted bundle Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX here on the App Store for iOS. Have you played any game in the Monster Rancher series before or will you be checking out this new Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX release?

This is tempting, but mostly because of nostalgia. Will this actually hold up well, or will it just taint my childhood memories?
I’ve never played it before, and I absolutely love it! I’m only a few seasons through the first one, but this feels like a perfect game for quick play sessions.
