The latest limited-time mode in Fortnite is now live, and it’s called Blitz mode. This Squads-only mode gets rid of that pesky early portion of the game where you have a few minutes to gather items and get to the circle before the storm starts closing in. No, the storm starts closing in ASAP, so you need to get your squad to the circle right away. The storm times are also shorter, with matches lasting a maximum of 15 minutes. The game also has modified loot availability, as per the 3.3 patch notes:
-
- Adjustments to loot availability:
- Increased chances of treasure chests spawning from 50-70% to 80-90%.
- Increased chances of ammo boxes spawning from 65-80% to 85-95%.
- Floor Loot spawns nearly 100% of the time.
- Supply Drop spawn interval lessened from 180s (+/- 30s) to 80s (+/- 20s).
- Supply Drop descent time shortened from 60s to 30s.
- Launchpad spawn likelihood greatly increased.
- Harvesting resources doubled.
- Resources found in loot increased from 30 to 100.
- Adjustments to loot availability:
- Treasure chest health increased from 200 to 500.
- Ammo box health increased from 120 to 250.

Of course, if you’re used to landing in Tilted Towers, don’t expect too different of an experience, because you already wish to thrive in chaos. It’s cowards like me that have to be careful. Blitz mode is only available for a few days, and is only playable with squads, so if you’re interested, play it ASAP! You can play with auto-filled squads, but it’s a lot better to play with people you know. If you need a squad, check out our #fortnite channel on our Discord server, where you can discuss the game and start plotting to get your Victories Royale.
