New ‘Thimbleweed Park’ Trailer Introduces the Wacky “Ransome the *Beeping* Clown”

TouchArcade Rating:

Two of the minds behind one of the greatest point-and-click adventure games of all time, Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick of Maniac Mansion fame, successfully Kickstarted a brand new adventure game back in November of 2014 called Thimbleweed Park. In March of last year, we got the first trailer which depicted a murder mystery involving a cast of strange characters that takes place in the strange world of Thimbleweed Park. Another new trailer was released in June, and another in August, and then in December we got a video of Thimbleweed Park running on an iPhone. That brings us to today where another new trailer reveals perhaps one of the strangest Thimbleweed Park characters to date: Ransome the *Beeping* Clown.

The more I see of Thimbleweed Park, the more excited I get to play it. The game definitely displays the same type of whimsy as games like Maniac Mansion, including a fairly dark and almost adult tone. Ransome the swearing clown is certainly evidence of that. I also love how there’s a variety of different characters who all have their own motives and whose storylines all seem to intersect with each other. I can’t wait! While no specific release date has been set yet, Gilbert and Winnick state that Thimbleweed Park will be heading to Xbox One, Windows, Mac, and Linux in “a month or two" and I’d imagine the mobile version will be coming at some point (hopefully) not too long after.

This is great news! I've come close to getting to the Overseer a few times and was wondering if there was anything after that.

This is a great surprise for Neon Chrome owners! The game already has a very deep replay value. 10Tons really knows how to met buyers expectations, and beyond! Great to see!
BTW.... I am trying to conquer Overseer 2.0 SpiderBot. Any tips on beating this insufferable bugger?? Definitely the most challenging stage yet!!!

You can try to choose a character with a shield you have not many health but the shield will recharge so if you stay out of combat a few seconds the shield will charge it is also handy to shoot a path trough the walls so you can move more freely in that level and don't get stuck and spend some money in more damage/health and some good enhancements and abilities but on lvl2 Overseer you take much more damage but the game is fair and balanced so I am sure you will defeat him.
        Good luck 😉

Appreciate your advice! I finally beat Overseer 2.0. I, too, am wondering how many Overseer "levels" (1.0 - 2.0 - 3.0....etc...) there are? I am trying to conquer Overseer 3.0, now. This is one of the best games I have ever purchased. Great player control and I agree with you, very balanced with loads of deep play!

How many times is the Overseer leveling up?
