This week on The TouchArcade Show, we battle through a conversation about how cool the supposed gold iPhone is in order to bring you the latest, greatest, and best in iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. At the top of the podcast, we discuss Blizzard’s CCG Hearthstone. A little later, we celebrate the creativeness of Asphalt 8 and the ups-and-downs of an exceptional racer Smash Bandits.
Of course, we also get to some news and user questions and feedback. If you’d like to listen, go ahead and hit one of the links below. Additionally, you could subscribe to the show on iTunes or Xbox Music. This is the easiest way to get us, we think.

This was my favourite game of this genre for a long time, back when it was released I couldn't put it down.
I really like the gothic, realistic art style. What's a good example of a more modern dual stick shooter with a similar art style?
Another oldie but amazing dual stick shooter I'd say would be Solomon's Boneyard. One of my favorite games ever
Solomon's Keep, yes.
But Solomon's Boneyard? That was a flawed game. It was missing multiple levels, right? It just never ended...
It's a dual-stick survival game so it's supposed to be endless (maybe there's an ending I dunno I keep dying). I personally thought it was so cool because each type of magic was very unique with the same kind of leveling up mechanic in iDracula that gave it an RPG spin too
It's always what's great for one is bad in a other ones view.
Between Zombie Highway and iDracula, Eli is pretty much really good at video games.
I think there a lot of reasons to pick up idracula. While there are no doubt a lot of great duo stick shooters I think Idracula has their perk system that I seldom see in duo stick shooters. Well, only one comes to mind which is monster shooter. Besides toucharcade is right there's the historic and nostalgic value. Idracula has always been on all my Idevices. I can't believe it's still up on the AppStore. I always thought I had to use my backup on iTunes to get it on my Idevices. Hope people pick this up if they don't already have it and take a trip on the way back machine
I too remember when this was brand new and everyone was so excited for it. Thought the graphics were amazing. Not so much now. Ha. Very interesting though.
"If you ever find yourself complaining about iOS games now, remember, this is what they used to be like."
Speaking of...probably just a simple oversight, but you guys forgot to cover the most important aspect of gameplay in this otherwise pretty thorough rewind: how was it monetized? I mean, they really seemed to hide the IAP store well in those menus back then. But I guess the devs were probably all pretty noob developers mistakenly focused on less critical things, right? In any case, you seemed to be having way too much fun shooting things versus managing your real-life budgetary spending on bullet packs. So weird!
(On a less sarcastic note, good job with the video guys! I like that you've made it easier to hear the game audio, but there was a little unevenness for me. Whenever people stop talking, there's some weird equalization that's boosting up the background in a very disjointed sounding way.)
Fixed in future videos!
There ISN'T any IAP. They mentioned right in the video that this was before IAP had taken hold on the App Store. Just look in the App Store description- no "top in-ap purchases" section and there's no "offers in-app purchases" disclaimer.
I totally don't understand what you're saying. What is a game if not a medium for selling IAP?
You're so much better at iPhone games then brad was.. It's ridiculous
Ha. I never finished this--but then again, nor did I ever uninstall it!
The small of my back still hurts when I watch that guy dance around.
I really liked iDracula back in the day but for me Solomon's Keep was the real deal back then and even now it's still fantastic.
Ha. It makes me chuckle to see a four year old game get referred to as 'super-old'. I guess that shows the speed at which iOS game market moves...
Funny that they are called "super old" and seen as AAA games.
