Ahead of Apple Arcade finally getting new games with Legends of Kingdom Rush out next week, new game updates have released for four games on the service today and yesterday. This week of updates follows the last few weeks that saw no new games but major updates weekly after the big overhaul in early April that brought in new categories with new games like Fantasian, Wonderbox, Clap Hanz Golf, a new Taiko no Tatsujin game, World of Demons from PlatinumGames, and more. This week, four game updates are available for The Oregon Trail LEGO Brawls, Clap Hanz Golf, and Slash Quest. Check out last week’s Apple Arcade roundup here.
Gameloft’s official successor to the classic The Oregon Trail titled The Oregon Trail on Apple Arcade got its first update since launch with 1.1.0 and it is a huge update. The Oregon Trail has new quests, achievements, improved tutorials, balance updates, and more. The update also has performance improvements including the frame rate and controller related improvements. Crash issues have also been addressed here alongside event repetition being addressed to not be as frequent. LEGO Brawls form Red Games Co begins season 9 with new mashup levels across classic LEGO themes, a gold rush game mode, new items to collect, progress tracking, and more.
Clap Hanz Golf, the first game from Clap Hanz outside PlayStation also gets a big update today adding World Tournament, new playable characters, an expansion to three modes, a new caddie, costumes, colours, and more. This update also adds native Apple M1 support. For mode expansions, Tour, Survival, and Score Attack have been updated today. Read my interview with the developers about Apple Arcade, mobile gaming, and more here. The final update of the week is Noodlecake and Big Green Pillow’s Slash Quest that has a new sports theme with Season 2. This included 11 new challenges, 6 new outfits, 3 new trails, and more.
