Earlier this month, Level-5 announced an HD remaster of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future for iOS and Android devices. Last week, the developer released the first gameplay trailer for it showcasing the visual improvements in the HD mobile version. If you’ve never played it before, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future released on Nintendo DS back in 2010 and was titled Professor Layton and the Lost Future in Europe. It is the third game in the first Layton trilogy. Level-5 already brought the first two Nintendo DS Professor Layton games to iOS and Android as premium releases over the years. Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box and Professor Layton and the Curious Village released previously as premium ports. Today, Level-5 releases Professor Layton and the Unwound Future HD on iOS and Android with a discounted trilogy bundle available. Watch the trailer for the HD release below:
I speculated that Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (called Layton: Unwound Future in HD) would be priced the same as the earlier games. I was wrong because Level-5 released it today for $13.99 as opposed to $9.99 for the earlier games. The good news is that there’s a discounted bundle for all three games titled the Layton Trilogy Bundle. If you’re in the US, check out Professor Layton and the Unwound Future here and the trilogy here. For everyone else, the game is here and the trilogy is here. The trilogy is priced at $23.99 at a discount since the total price for all three games individually is about $34. As of this writing, I couldn’t find any sort of bundle on Google Play but the game itself is here. Check out the original official English website here for the mobile version. Did you enjoy the first two Layton games on mobile or did you only play them on Nintendo DS?
