The Big ‘Stardew Valley’ 1.4 Update Is Finally Live on iOS Bringing Back PC Save Transfer, Adding Loads of New Content, and More

TouchArcade Rating:

The big Stardew Valley ($4.99) 1.4 content update went live on Android recently but iOS users have been told that the update is “coming soon" for quite a while. This is a major update to the game adding a new end game mystery, new events, fish ponds, a new farm map, 60 new items, 14 new music tracks, massive improvements to collections, and a lot more. The full patch notes are here but these include spoilers so avoid them if you have been spoiler free so far. The 1.4 update is something we have been following for a while now and since it hit PC and consoles before, the ability to transfer saves between PC and iOS was not available due to incompatibility. The 1.4 content update is a free update for all owners of the game on iOS and it has finally gone live right now.

Today, the big 1.4 update has hit iOS restoring the ability to transfer saves between iOS and PC and bringing all the new content and features. If you aren’t sure how to do transfer saves, read this but keep in mind that you need to be updated on both iOS and PC to transfer saves. In terms of cosmetics, this update adds 24 new hairstyles, 180 shirts, hats, pants, and boots. Sheds can now be upgraded and tailoring has been added to the game. Read our review of the iOS version. We even featured it as our Game of the Week. If you don’t already own it, you can buy it on the App Store for iOS here and for Android here on Google Play. Here’s our forum thread on the game for more discussion. Now that this big update is finally out, hopefully the developers can consider adding multiplayer to the game on mobile.
