‘Dead Cells’ for Android Finally Has a Release Window and Playdigious Confirms that the iOS Version Will Eventually Catch Up to the PC Version

TouchArcade Rating:

The fantastic Dead Cells ($8.99) from Motion Twin hit iOS a while ago from Playdigious and we’ve covered it a lot across various updates and even featured it as our Game of the Year for 2019. I own Dead Cells on both Switch and iOS and compared both versions in a feature you can read here. A lot of players have been wondering if and when the console and PC content updates and features would hit iOS and eventually Android. Playdigious confirmed that it is bringing some content already but the timeline hasn’t been announced for iOS. Earlier today, the company confirmed that content updates are planned for iOS to hit parity with the PC and console versions.

It is likely that these will arrive after the Android version releases so Playdigious can focus on bringing new content to both platforms at the same time in the future. Even in its current state, Dead Cells is amazing on iOS and absolutely worth playing. If you haven’t bought it yet, read our review of the iOS port here. We featured it as our Game of the Week as well when it released as well. If you’re on iOS, you can buy it on the App Store and if you’re on Android, you need to wait until Q3 2020. The Android port is still a while away but knowing Playdigious, the wait will be worth it. Have you played Dead Cells yet on Switch or iOS?
