Netmarble Is Working on a ‘Ni No Kuni’ MMORPG for Mobile Platforms

The Ni no Kuni franchise from Level-5 has had a rocky history in the West. While it initially garnered a decent following thanks to the PS3 release Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch on PS3 which was a remake of the Nintendo DS game in Japan, the series hadn’t seen much activity until a PS4 game was announced. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom for PS4 and PC was when the West finally got a largescale release that was mostly received well on two platforms. Recently, Bandai Namco Entertainment released a remaster of the original PS3 game for PS4 and PC while a port of the PS3 game was released on Nintendo Switch. Watch the trailer below:

Today, Netmarble announced a Ni no Kuni mobile MMORPG that will feature eye catching anime graphics. The aim here is to collaborate and compete with other players to grow your own guild. You will also be able to collect and train spirits called “Imazen" in game to take alongside on your own adventure. Netmarble has only just revealed a poster for the game so far with a full reveal set for G-Star 2019 that will tale place from November 14th to November 17th in Busan, South Korea. I’m not going to be too optimistic about this release making it to North America and Europe because Level-5’s IP and mobile don’t really get along well when it comes to new releases in the West. Have you played any of the Ni no Kuni games so far?
