‘Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition’ Finally Has a Release Date for iOS, Android, PS4, and Nintendo Switch and the TGS 2019 Trailer Confirms Cross Platform Play

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is a remaster of the GameCube game that debuted in 2004 on the Nintendo system. It was annouced a little while ago for just PS4 and Nintendo Switch but Square Enix went on to confirm both iOS and Android as well. If you haven’t heard about this release at all before, it is a spinoff of the Final Fantasy series that is an action RPG. On the GameCube, it relied on the Game Boy Advance link cable setup to allow up to four players to play together. The remaster was announced for early 2020 and it finally has a release date. Watch the new trailer for it below:

In addition to all the content in the original, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will also support cross platform play. Online multiplayer has been confirmed again. The exact wording in the trailer mentions playing online across different platforms with the cross play function. I hope this means your save also carries over because I’ll definitely get it on Switch and iOS if that is the case. Since this is releasing a while after iOS 13 releases, hopefully Square Enix adds proper controller support for iOS as well.

If you’re interested in playing it, you will not have much longer to wait. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition releases on January 23rd, 2020 for PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. As of now a price point hasn’t been announced yet. Have you played this on the GameCube before or will you be experiencing it for the first time in January 2020?
