Spike Chunsoft announced an iOS and Android port of the Nintendo DS game Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer This Nintendo DS release was actually a port of the SNES version. It saw an English release on DS in 2008 thanks to SEGA in North America. Today, the iOS version is available for 1800 Yen in Japan. Watch the first video for the iOS release below:
As of now, Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer is only available on the Japanese App Store with no plans for localisation yet. Since a localisation does exist for the North American DS release, I hope this one makes it over. It is always interesting to see how developers adapt double screen device games to a single screen. The easiest solution is to keep the game portrait only with the lower screen on DS representing the bottom half of the iOS device with the upper screen be the upper half of an iOS device screen.

It isn’t new for Nintendo 3DS and DS games to see iOS and Android releases. The Ace Attorney and Dragon Quest ports are my favourites of the lot. If you’re interested in playing Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer on iOS, you can check it out on the App Store here. The Android version will follow later on Google Play. Are you going to get this on the Japanese App Store or wait for a possible localisation? Check out our forum thread for the game here.
