When Reigns ($2.99) developer Nerial and publisher Devolver Digital announced Reigns: Game of Thrones back in August, I don’t think I could have imagined a match that was more made in heaven. After all the incredible Reigns and its sequel Reigns: Her Majesty ($2.99) are all about ruling the throne and all the drama that comes with it, so a Game of Thrones tie-in fits the series like a glove. Nerial even originally pitched the idea of Reigns to Devolver as “Tinder meets Game of Thrones" so it’s kind of like destiny that an officially licensed version is happening. Well we are inching closer to the release of Reigns: Game of Thrones and today Devolver put up an awesome new gameplay trailer showing much of the game in action, check it out.
Pretty epic, eh? If you want to learn even more about Reigns: Game of Thrones, we previewed an early version of the game back in August shortly after its announcement, and really loved what we saw. We also found out last week that Reigns: Game of Thrones uses Apple’s face-tracking camera technology that’s built into the iPhone X and above models to subtly hint about whether the characters in the game are being truthful with you or not. It’s a really low-key feature that was actually already built into the preview version we played in August, but it was SO subtle that we didn’t even notice it until it was pointed out to us. It’s just one of the many neat little things about Reigns: Game of Thrones, so feel free to pre-order the game on the App Store if you haven’t already and look forward to the full launch this Thursday.
