Thanks to Our Sponsors for Supporting TouchArcade: Mobcrush, Bethesda, GameSpire, Appodeal, Ketchapp, Codeulike, and Phoenix One Games

While we’re primarily supported by a mixture of Patreon, Twitch subscriptions and Amazon referrals these days, site sponsors go a long way in making up for the funding shortfalls of our Patreon never reaching its goal. To show our appreciation, we are now publishing these posts thanking our sponsors each week- Both to give them a little extra visibility and hopefully to get readers who love TouchArcade to give their games a look to similarly support their efforts in allowing us to continue to provide everyone with awesome third party mobile games editorial which the App Store ecosystem badly needs.

A huge shout out to Mobcrush for running a full site skin. If you haven’t used Mobcrush before, it’s a lot like Twitch but instead of being crowded with Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, League of Legends, and other stuff, it’s primarily mobile games. Using The Mobcrush App (Free), you can both watch games and stream supported games as well as chat, follow channels, and all the other stuff you’d expect a streaming provider to do. If you’re a mobile gamer, you need to check out Mobcrush.

Also, a massive shout out to Bethesda, who is still running some banner ads on the site. They recently released a universal update to their collectable card game, The Elder Scrolls Legends (Free), which now means you can play the game anywhere you’ve got a PC, tablet, or phone. Now that the game is more or less “complete" from a compatibility perspective, we posted a review which provides a great basis of comparison to Hearthstone (Free) which has become the elephant in the room of digital CCG’s. Personally, I think they’re both worth playing because the differences between them end up being pretty significant. Like all free to play CCG’s, The Elder Scrolls: Legends basically rapid fires free stuff at you during the tutorial, so even if you end up not sticking with it, the first few hours of playing is a lot of fun.

Next up is a huge shout out to the guys at GameSpire who are running some ads in our forum for Armored Kitten (Free) which is a dual stick shooter that features all sorts of cats. (I love the icon, which is a tabby cat in a space helmet.) Armored Kitten is free to play, but also features a $1.99 IAP that gives you a coin doubler and removes ads. Like most games with coin doublers, this removes a lot of the grind and shifts the balance closer to what you might expect if the game was just two bucks out of the gate. Check out the thread in our forums.

For developers out there, give Appodeal a look. They’ve been running ads in our sidebar for a really long time now, and what they provide is a platform for intelligently serving ads using one SDK which connects to over 35 different ad networks. While I’ve never used it myself, I’ve heard horror stories from developers on what a nightmare it can be juggling all the different ad networks to display ads in game. Appodeal simplifies all that, giving you more time to work on your game instead of figuring out how to implement one more ad network. Additionally, their service is totally free to use.

Ketchapp is practically a household name now, but even if you haven’t heard of Ketchapp specifically, chances are you have a few of their games on your phone. Their most recent title is Hop (Free), but Ballz (Free) and Fidget Spinner (Free) have both been glued to the top of the charts for what feels like forever. Ketchapp has been running ads in our sidebar for a super long time now, and we appreciate their continued support.

Next up is Codeulike who is now running banners for Numplussed (Free). It’s a maze game with an interesting twist in that it has a math component to the different pathways of the maze. The above trailer shows how this works in practice, and there’s a thread on the forums where the developer has been posting progress of the game, updates, and linking to promo code giveaways.

Sponsoring our podcast this week is Phoenix One Games for Guardian Kingdoms (Free). It’s a online real-time strategy game where players attack and defend live, instead of raiding bases while people are sleeping. It’s a cool twist on the formula, as it feels a lot more action-y than raiding bases in other similar games.

Thanks a ton to our sponsors this week, as well as all of our community members who continue to support us. Combined, you all allow us to keep doing what we’re doing. If there’s any developers, publishers, or folks from third party services that might appeal to iOS developers who are curious about sponsorship opportunities here at TouchArcade, reach out to our ad sales manager, Marianne, at [email protected]. We have a lot of different options which can fit any budget.

I dont think that will make me change my 6S+ for now but its always interesting to see what comes up 😊

  2. Wizard of Odyssey

And JUST LIKE THAT, my 6S is feeling awfully slow and janky.

    1. Stetch

      Same with my 7+ ....

    2. NaeemTHM

See? This is why people get upset with Apple. Planned obsolescence! They know we all want to throw our old iPhone's in the bin when they announce a new iPhone. And yet they do it anyway! Bastards.

      1. Milotorou

I guess a lot of people do.... but I dont.

My iPhone 6s+ is doing fine, everything is smooth and works flawless, I see no reason to change it yet.

I’m pretty sure Wisard was joking that his/her 6s was suddenly feeling slow - not that it had actually got slow.

That said, my 6 has been feeling slow (and multi-tasking has practically disappeared) for a while now.

        1. NaeemTHM

          I was joking too haha.

            Damn!

    Must....resist...

  4. Sandalfo

    i will not resist :) i'll get an iP8 + 256Gb as soon as i can

    1. Wizard of Odyssey

Same here. As a wise man once said, RESISTANCE IS USELESS, YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED. If the rumors are true, and they offer a 512GB version, I might go that way. What's another hundred bucks if we're already over a grand? Might as well get AppleCare on it too at that price.

      1. curtisrshideler

At least I'll be do for an upgrade.... like that'll save me anything. ;)

What happened to the iPhone 7(as)s? Straight to 8?!

    1. h4nd0fg0d

There will also be an iPhone 7s/7s+, retaining the physical home button, bezels, LCD displays but will opt for all glass backs for wireless charging.

  6. h4nd0fg0d

    Cha-ching take my$!

At least make sure it's not a lemon first. I'm thrilled you have such disposable income, but (much like a good stripper) you should at least make Apple work to earn your money.

      1. Eli Hodapp

Which iPhone has been a lemon?

      2. h4nd0fg0d

Have had all but the very first and rest assured, none were as you say 'lemons.'

  7. Lickzy

By some act of God, I hope they announce a new mini.... but it won't happen

  8. DanCJ

Man, I really hate the rumours that they’re bringing out a 7s, 7s+ and 8 all at the same time - and the 512gb rumour.

It used to be nice and easy. Every time I upgraded I’d just get the top iPhone in the top storage bracket and I’d have a phone that would last me the next two or three years.

Now they’re bringing out phones above that, so I’m thrown into turmoil about which one to get. It was bad enough deciding between the 6 and the 6+, now I’ve got to choose between three phones - and between 256 and 512gb.

    Bastard.

(Clearly this is on me not Apple - but I wish they weren’t doing this)

.......Transforming into iPhone Trash Bin Complete.

  10. seantyas

Ive finally gotten over all of it. I have the 7 plus 256 gb and its fine, and itll be fine next year as well. I was getting big into ios gaming til i got a nintendo switch and havent bought a single ios game since... such a better experience. Apple not backing gaming was foolish.

  11. RunningWild

My 5S 64gb is still going strong thanks to a new battery being put in by Apple. Really happy with the form factor. Don't want to update to iOS11 ever though..
