Way back in October 2014 we posted the debut trailer for Epic of Kings, an upcoming action adventure from Shadow Blade ($1.99) developer Dead Mage. Epic of Kings appeared to have Infinity Blade-style one-on-one combat, but also featured some free-roaming movement and several other styles of gameplay mixed in. It looked promising, but news on Epic of Kings went really quiet after that first trailer, until just a couple of weeks ago when Dead Mage released a brand new launch trailer as well as a release date of February 18th. Today, Dead Mage has sent along the intro cutscene for Epic of Kings so you can get a feel for the storyline. Check it out.
Riveting stuff! I’ve been excited for Epic of Kings ever since first posting about it over a year ago, and I’m glad that its release is finally drawing near. I’ve been waiting for a game to come along and use the excellent Infinity Blade formula of combat in an expanded way, and I’m hoping Epic of Kings will be that game for me. I’m also really digging everything I’ve seen so far of the lore and universe that the game is set in.
