Japanese publisher Square Enix has delivered the promised Crystal Defenders game to the iPhone. Crystal Defenders [$7.99, Lite] is a tower defense game with a Final Fantasy theme.
Crystal Defenders is a defensive strategy game in which players deploy popular jobs from FINAL FANTASY Tactics A2, such as Black Mages and Soldiers, to fend off encroaching enemy hordes and prevent them from stealing their party’s crystals.
Early forum adopters of the title, however, were appalled at the use of a large virtual control stick that takes up half of the screen.
Several of those who stuck with the title, though, were won over by the gameplay. Forum user h1976 captures the general sentiment:
First of all, that WTF button, ok the control works, but its lame, even if they want to do that, at least texture the thing, make it nicer not just a black pad with a giant blue orb.
It gives the game kinda an “indie" feel, feels like someone rips off the sprites of final fantasy tactics advance and pasted them in his own game, a pretty good game though I have to say. So my personal view, the gameplay is good, I love tower defense, so I’d give it a 10 personally. The level up system, the variety of the unit, good.
BUT I just cant get over the look and polish of the game
Fortunately, a free lite version is available to try that gives you the first 20 waves of one of the beginner’s maps.

NFS was probably not as good as Asphalt or Ferrari from Gameloft. Hence the delay.
buaahhhh..... I assume that EA wants to deliver a polished game without bugs, as this will be a showcase for EA and Apple.

I applaud any developer waiting rather than pushing a half-bake pile of feces into the app store. The latter is becoming an annoying trend.
takes like 6 months to 'polish' a game under 100mb?
is this a joke, gameloft produces amazing products within one or two months of starting hype and they look so much better than this, look closely at every detail in the picture, is this game really worth all of the hype that it has gotten?

There is a much simpler explanation. There is just no way to make enough money to cover the costs of developing a game with a scope like GTA on the iphone. They are the ones pushing apple to raise the 10 dollar limit to 20 dollars. The second this is allowed GTA will release.

Ea is probly done polishing it they just want to release it for 20 bucks (like they don't have enough already!) but apple hasn't released the premium games section to the app store yet and that could take as long as june! Those are the best graphics i have seen for an iphone game in my life!!!!! It will flippin pwn asphalt 4 and ferrari crapaloutin. Also ea could introuduce the game a few days before the release or at least not say it will be released in a month when they actually release it. I will probaly own call of duty 9 before this game comes out!!!!!!!!!!!
This game is going to be way better than racing games out in the appstore. EA obviously wants the iphone version to make up for all the bad press that the console versions have recieved. And, another thing what the company says the realease date is gonna be is not neccesarily the final say. The developers have the final say. If they aren't finished then the game won't get released. Also, EA is NOT going to sell their game for $20. The premium game section will not be opened for another couple of months. This game is going to go for $9.99

It says it is expected early march, it is now past early march and i'm tired of waiting. I don't know why there is no new news out now that it is once again past due. I have now spent my money elsewhere and don't plan on buying it until it gets cheap.

OMG this game suddenly came up in my mind today

I know this game is going to be huge, but this is just no manners...
Now i'm actually afraid it will be one of those premium games and I'm not going to be surprised if it is.
I bet its finished already...but greedy EA, as always.
Accually EA saw games like fastaline street racing and was surprised at the games graphics and physics!! so they are trying to make something extra ordinary that no one else can make!!
