‘Hill Billy’ (First Person Shooter) Looks Impressive

Forum member fusionXdeveloper points out an impressive looking preview of an upcoming iPhone game called Hill Billy.

Hill Billy is a first person shooter that uses the accelerometer for movements. The Mahatma graphics engine support full normal mapping lighting for a result never seen before on a mobile device. This is a sneak preview of weapons and scenarios graphics. Coming soon on the App Store…

While we’ve seen a few example of first person shooters being demoed for the iPhone, but none have made it to the App Store yet:

I'm so flippin excited for this game! Just bought Monopoly.

  4. Ryan

I hope they launch it at a decent price, or at least that it's worth the asking price. I really want to like this.

Oh great! I'm going to be totally skint by January. ^_^

I'm not complaining too much... BIA, Sparta, Ferrari GT and now SimCity... all 4 games for the price of one regular console game, there has to be at last 30 hours of quality gaming right there!

Anyone want to by a PSP?

they should make rollercoaster tycoon for iphone, i'd shit bricks

  7. rrtson

    @Jesper

Seriously.. that would blow SimCity OUT OF THE WATER..

    Awesome!!! YES!

It really seems now obvious that they (whoever this might apply to) can port any video or computer games released within or before the first half of this decade. Only point is to adapt to the small screen and the lack of classic controls. So I wouldn't be surprised of a Rollercoaster Tycoon, Quake II (maybe even III) and Shenmue (wink).

Somehow I would like to see Theme Hospital. Made good memories, although gameplaywise most would state that Theme Park was the better of those two.

I'm getting excited by this. Should wash the sub-par taste of Sim City DS away.

That said, what's with EA's horrid HUDs? All the overlays look awful. The same can apply to their other iPhone games (with exception of Tetris).

This is going to be awesome, can't wait to buy this and NFS. I haven't bought a PS3 game for many months (except RockBand 2 of course).

  12. bacaramac

Oh yeah, I wonder if we will get "work while we sleep mode". This would be nice, kind of like what Virtual Villagers has.

effzehn: Shenmue! Ah now wouldn't that be something... It must be possible, Sega had a full copy of Shenmue and most of Shenmue 2 running on the Saturn back in the day. I appreciate that the Dreamcast version spanned several 1GB discs, but perhaps there might be a way of splitting the Shenmue story down into smaller chapters.

Actually, given the success of Monkey Ball I'm kind of surprised that we haven't seen more Sega classics on the iPhone.

What about secrets like FUNDS or whatever? will that work?
Not exactly a keyboard attached :)

    Nathan,

I couldn't agree more. As a SimCity Nut, both version on the DS were ridiculously disappointing. And at $29.99 a total rip off. I'll gladly fork over $9.99 if the iPhone version.

    So, any release date?

  17. thewiccaman

Presumably not available in the UK App store, like Monopoly, Scrabble, etc.?

  18. bob

    hey wiccaman:

"SimCity is expected to appear in the App Store this month"

oh and try search in itunes, you might be surprised lol

  19. Adam

i simply cannot wait for this title. I am a huge fan of the old simcity 3000 and havent played it for a while and this will be my chance to relive my past :P

  20. zenguy

Release it already. Now. I am getting blue balls in anticipation.

  21. Eric

i personally would rather had seen the SIMS on iphone than sim city

  22. pintos-n-cheese

Impressive, almost looks like SimCity 4.

Also still waiting for Final Fantasy, come on Square Enix. Bring it.

  23. Nick Ellis

@Eric The Sims are also coming to the iPhone.

  24. blakespot

@Nick Ellis: Handmark / Astraware who brought Sims 2 to Pocket PC are onboard with the iPhone.

  25. Jesper

@Blake: looks pretty awful, but then again so did the first sims too

    awesome

    also lol@antispamword: IKEA

This is one of the games that I will definitely buy. The control scheme looks a little cumbersome, but I really like that it's actually a full game and not just a demo like Spore turned out to be. I'm hoping SimCity and Rolando come out just in time for my Christmas time off.

  27. Shaun

Looks impressive. Been waiting for a strategy/simulation game like this.

  28. rich_952000

@ Shaun: you can't go wrong here, make sure your firmware is updated. Infinate replay value, cheats, etc..

This is awesome, fun and intelligent.
